Honestly, I know it's "low effort" or whatever, but I was totally here for this. You clearly have great taste and an ear for/knowledge of sound production, and 2010's rock was so strangely varied and interesting to the point being a very fascinating period, so this worked for me. Great suggestions and I like the varied content, even if looking forward to the next man-made horror videos to come! Also, totally called the mic not even being plugged in from frame one. It's a good bit.

Thee oh sees “sucks blood” album is weird and strangely enchanting. Really otherworldy and floaty barely tethered to reality psychedelic vocals. It just gets weirder the later into the album you get with one song just titled “drone” which is just a random droning noise and they have made like 10 iterations of it. Let me know if you want me to get way weirder

I think the handheld mic makes you feel like at any point he could ask a question and put the mic up to you, making it an interactive piece. I photographed and documented Memphis graffiti for several years. The piece that absolutely hooked me was a wall that was in Orange Mound on the side of a building painted in shades of orange, black, brown and white that asked me, the viewer, "What's Your Favorite Color?" The artist created a beautiful piece, representing the neighborhood and asking onlookers a direct question. I had to find the artist and eventually did. I didn't know a single person doing graffiti when I started my project. I actually found and met several graffiti artists and started getting to document the process of them painting these pieces around the city and not just finding the finished results to photograph. The crazy thing about meeting him was learning he's actually colorblind. Hands down he's one of my two favorite graffiti artists from Memphis. Today, 18 years later, he's a known Memphis artist that has gone from illegal art to being sought after and even received some grant money for his artwork.

Room Runner sounds like a nirvana ripoff in the first clip, the rest sounded like it was ahead of its time. Squid is great, i loved all those samples. I also really liked the British new wave vocals on that Destruction Unit track; it kind of sounds like if Echo and the Bunnymen was more angry sad than just sad. Vietcong/Women is also really cool. That track from Chat Pile was way better than i could have ever expected given your introduction. pretty solid list. i've never heard of any of this music.

good choices ill add another few recommendations for fun (yeah it's not from the 2010s stfu) Grazhdanskaya Oborona - Reanimation (Just listen to it, I like the psychedelic nature of it, reminds me of their side project from the 90's which made the album below) Egor i Opizdenevshie- 100 Years of Solitude (Legitimately one of the best albums ever made. Just listen to it, and if you can, try to find English translations of those songs, it's 100% worth the effort to do so). Grazhdanskaya Oborona - Russian Field of Experiments (IMO the album is OK, it's interesting noise, but the last song is truly one of the saddest songs I have ever listened to. It legitimately feels like you are listening to the words of a madman who was 100% right. That's the best way I can describe it. There's good rough translations online)

As soon as you said Oranssi Pazuzu I knew I was in for a good list. It feels so great hearing someone else with a much larger platform than yours share the exact same opinion you have, namely that Värähtelijiä, while being one of the best albums of the decade, isn't even their best by a long shot. Mestarin Kynsi truly is a masterpiece and easily one of my favorite albums in a very long time, but I do love Värähtelijiä because it was the first time I ever heard psychedelic music that sounded like it was intended to be a bad trip and like I wasn't necessarily supposed to enjoy it. Mestarin Kynsi to me sounds like the soundtrack to the most fucked up A24 film that was never made, but both the music and the hypothetical movie still feel like art I was intended to enjoy by the creators. Värähtelijiä feels like they have a grudge against me and agreed to be my trip sitter just so they could harsh my vibe. 😂 I can't wait to spin the recommendations that are new to me! Gilla Band especially is exciting because they sound like they might finally scratch the itch that I have for something that sounds like Daughters that doesn't require me listening to a rapist.
