To note someone fully decked out in plate were basically invisible for a time (ie sword weren't very effective, only aiming for weakpoints OR smacking them til their heads were crushed in, hence the need for a sword like this). Then gunpowder changed the game again making anyone on the battlefield vulnerable, even from a distance.

High quality plate armor was largely impervious to early gunpowder weapons at sufficient distances. Gunpowder wasn't what caused plate to become obsolete. It was high velocity rifle bullets that changed things. This is why the cuirass and helmet remained extremely popular until the 19th century.

That last sword is a festival sword to fight other knights during tournaments. And overall long sword or one and a half arm sword (bastard sword) was a genius invention of a late medieval warfare combining a blade to combat a lightly armored foe and a blunt kind of weapon to fight a heavy armored enemy. As well as to wrestle a heavy armored opponent. Also bastard sword can be used as a thrust weapon while mounted. So it was a gamechanger of that era. It was also useful to capture enemies with blunt attacks to get ransom from them later.
