I'll go up to Elite category when I win one of the Advanced races. And I was running less than 1 psi in my Jumbo Jims. 😊 -Aero Dude

You didn't win - man you smoked me so someone else smoked me too - didn't even realize it. Good race...look forward to Elite'ing with you, but then as soon as you do, I'll downgrade - LOL

Get a second wheelset that's wide (at least 100mm) and large lugged tires like Flowbeist and Dunderbeist. My wide 105mm nextie wheelset with those tires has saved me a couple times on races with loose conditions, even running them down to 1-2 psi. Riding your bike is always going to be faster than pushing it.

good call on the equipment - those Jumbo Jims I have on there now have their place but it wasn't on that day. I should get a 5inch set up too - good comment thanks Nathan!

I concur with Nathan, I fitted a Husker Du 4.8 on 105mm Nexties on my Medium Beargrease. There is 1.5mm of clearance. At 1.5 psig front and 2.5 psig rear you can float on almost anything.

For conditions like this... time to invent a Ski to replace the front tire. Or outriggers.... your welcome and I would at least expect a cut....

I loved watching this and all of your races! I feel your pain as I did a Fatbike race last weekend in Alberta, Canada - it was the same deal with huge dump of snow night before. There’s nothing you can do about it if it wont pack. Just lots of hike a bike and dismounting and mounting. I wondering if you have any preference on tires and do you change out depending on conditions?

I don’t change em out. My last bike had Dilly 4’s and I studded em. This wheelset has Jumbo Jim (fast but almost no grip). I think the Dilly 4 are the best all-rounders overall. I’m not the best at setting tubeless so I don’t swap em
