mard420 maybe not in a typical high school, but at least if you are going to a tech school they should show the relevant videos. Say like this if you are going to tech school for welding, or maybe show some of the reactive hazard videos in chemistry classes, at least show the ones that are pertinent to whatever particular subject is being studied.

Believe it or not they actually did show a lot of safety videos like this one at mine! They mostly consisted of OSHA awareness videos and a good bunch of other videos warning and educating the dangers of the common workplace.

Hilariously enough smoking is considered hot work they actually pull a hot work permit for the smoking area anytime they establish a smoking area (usually near the break trailers, even on a refinery people do take breaks) on a refinery or other industrial workspace

I watched 32 cars at a scrap yard go up because of 1 car on its side And a guy with a cutting torch cutting off engine mounts to remove a engine the quick way ...The gas tank still in the car He assumed it was empty And the gas cap was on ...It was not .The fuel spilled out and down a slight angle to 2 other cars He panic And picked up the car with a front end loader to race to the back of the yard and near a garden hose area And water tank ...On the way the gas pour into other cars with broken windows And open engine bays it took 3 fire trucks and 5 hours to control it ........That same year the city told them they could no longer stack cars ontop of each other ...

you cant avoid hot work by using bolts you still have to drill or cut a hole for the bolt to pass through. These guys where idiots, as long as you have common sense and follow safety rules and do routine check before you just start working you wont blow yourself up.

eswainz why would u wear a hard hat in a shop? It wouldn't be possible to wear a hard hat and welding helmet at the same time. All that's required in most shop settings is steel toe boots, gloves (in certain applications), and safety glasses
