Very informative tutorial. Mimicked your stabilizing left arm travel as this is where I have been going wrong as the weld progresses. Will now give it a try.

are you asking about leading angle or rod angle toward the joint?

Great video, very informative. When I try to do fillet welds, I end up either getting the entire bead on the top plate, or these “boogers” back and forth between the bottom and top plate. Does this mean I’m inaccurately aiming the electrode? I’m using a 1/16 6013 @ 40A on 3/16 steel, is it possible I’m using an electrode that’s too thin? It works fine on flat surfaces, but is really messy on corners. Thank you.

I've never used 1/16 6013 so I don't know what the setting are for that rod but I doubt rod angle or metal thickness is the problem. I would switch to 7018 with a 3/32 size if it were me. I wish I could be more help, good luck!
