That should indeed be sufficient, despite the fact that there are plenty of day trippers who do not speak English, let alone read it. But once through the entrance, I no longer see any warnings. My position: no tourists at barracks, period. Allowing tourists anyway means settling for the inconvenience. I like the man in camo. He recognized the need to let the horse stretch out a bit. He kept him from rearing up by using technique instead of force. He walked the horse out a bit, then brought the horse back straight, instead of bending. Also, watch his eyes. He would occasionally glance over to check on the behavior of the horse. But he was intentionally avoiding eye contact. Horses will follow your lead; but will often balk and begin pulling if the person on the ground faces them and stares at them. Many horses see it as a challenge. The guy is very calm and a very wise handler.

The rider's choice to spur the horse in the doorway while it was already complying wasn't a good one if he wants the horse to be calm and confident through doorways & going from light to dark environments. A horse's eye does not react to light & dark as fast as ours. When a handler is like, "Come on! I can see fine. What's your problem?" the horse experiences being asked to step into an abyss, for a few seconds longer.

A horse's eye evolved for light changes at he speed of sunrises and sunsets, not light switches or unlit caverns(barns & trailers) They can learn to blindly trust, but this one doesn't trust that rider, in that way. They should've replaced that horse as soon as there was an issue, but kept it there until change over. The horse wasn't "playing up," IT WAS DISTRESSED! Not sure why you are unable to leave the USA, but Im in Australia - turning 51 in September, never had a Passport - thinking of getting one just for the heck of it and doing a NZ trip if possible before I kick off... I'd so love to travel - always wanted to do Europe (Including the entire United Kingdom), and as a photographer really go all out on the historical sites, I love anthropology, geology, geography, basically all natural and man made structures and everything you can find on and under the face of the planet. (Im the idiot who apologises to a rock if digging a hole for a fence post to go in and 4 ft down find a rock - its been there for eons and some idiot (me) comes along and disturbs it.... yes, Im on medication for that - seriously) however I do have a few reasons I dont think Id be allowed in a lot of countries myself and havent been able to travel earlier.... I havent travelled earlier in life due to no money - or rather - due to horses.... and every other critter you can name pretty well, including a borrowed camel. Lol - one of my horses is a Grandson of the Late HRH Queen Elizabeth II though - so Im happy there - hes 20 a week before my birthday in September, and when he turns 20 he will have been my baby for 19 1/2 years. Hes the one head hugging me in my avatar. I love that horse so so so much. If things hadnt happened as they did in my life - I would not have him. So I do not regret that at all. His breeder is also so pleased to see regular updates about him and that he is still with the same owner who bought him from them. I would have had his mother still - but my ex really put the screws in and used horses - specific ones that he KNEW I would not approve of him taking from me, and it was her or a couple of my other show horses that I COULD breed to him. The other reason is now that the ONLY horse I have in my life is him, I still cant afford to travell but Im on 23 tablets in the mornings and 18 at night, leaving the country would be ok I am assuming but getting into other countries with each weeks tablets in pre made webster packs (the pharmacy makes them up into push out packages - so much easier - it still hurts but better than ALL the boxes of tablets to take with me that would seriously fill a suitcase - at least say 4 months of webster packs would only take 1/2 a suitcase. Its the pre planning - Im sure I would have to have EVERYTHING preplanned with my lists of everything - and yes each pack has on it whats in it and when to take it, but would need scripts or letters from the GP, the Specialists as to why I am on them, and that I am not a danger to the public, just my clumsy self. And probably wouldnt be allowed to alter travel dates so no flexibility for moving around country to country :( Where I know I like to have a structure and know what is happening when - I am also wanting freedom of needing to be able to change my mind if I want to or if something is on like a horse show that I desperately want to see. Trying to get my 2 wheelchairs (inside/nice neat one for dining out/shopping/using in streets etc and my outside mudding it or sand etc - 4wd chair .... and no the one chair wont do all... and my walker for use in motel rooms or friends houses etc - that is for just getting around inside, like from couch to loo, bed to loo, sitting on to dry off after a shower, using as a shower seat if no shower seat present etc. My body does not like me. Heck the opportunity to get into seeing a specialist over there might be good. Anyhow they are my reasons for not being able to travel - not having the $$ earlier in life cos I collected horses like I collected camera gear and tack for my horses, and now all the meds I am on and the machinery Id have to take with me and quite possibly the support worker I would also have to pay all flights, acommodation for I think their wage may still be covered by my insurance plan but almost 24/7 would be mightily expensive.

And WHY was this horse subjected to such punishing, loud yelling inside that echoing, magnifying - sound, stone guard tunnel? It could have burst anyone’s ear drums, and was certainly painful to the horse’s sensitive hearing! No wonder he doesn’t want to go in there!! Please, have this horse’s ear drums checked by a Vet, antibiotics to prevent infection if they are burst - and for God’s sake, take this poor horse out of such an abusive situation.
