Welsh farmer Eddie McIntosh, who has featured on 'Grand Designs' and 'How to Rescue a House', fell strangely foul of his local Council, who said yes to a huge wind-turbine development in the moors next door, but said no to his footbridge, fire-pit and compost loo on a historical smallholding.
McIntosh faces jail if he does not pay the fine that was issued in Crown Court, after a 3 day jury trial. This came after a 3 day Public Inquiry in 2015. An estimated cost to the Council of this prosecution is close to £200k, and it resulted in a £600 fine for McIntosh, who refuses to pay. He believes he cannot be guilty for necessary works on his widely praised and locally loved eco farm.
Note - he went to jail for 14 days. He is now out and getting on farming after 7 years of intense legal harassment.
