Man it kinda sucks either way that s0m vs CGRS clutch went. Both had huge plays with massive impact on the round and it’s really only in hindsight we can see what happened, but in the chaos of the moment it looks like s0m just whiffs the shorty shots. If CGRS didn’t win that and PRX go on to lose the game, everybody would have been like “damn it sucks but if we didn’t have a sub we probably won that game,” like imagine how CGRS would have felt in that situation. It’s just my opinion that’s it’s sad that s0m could have been considered the mvp of that match (his champs vandal was glowing in the clip) but instead this is all we remember that game for.

I feel like s0m could have threw his orb down on stairs as he was running. It would’ve came up fast enough to block the bullets and he’d be out. Also could have jump peeked the spike a couple times for info and then bubbled. Maybe even ulted and rotated through mid possibly getting timing while also getting info on where the attacker was headed(because they have to run no matter what). The play wasn’t terrible but I remember watching this cringing because he wasn’t running but in the heat of the moment shit happens.

Only in hindsight we know how far CGRS is. To s0m he could have been much closer to the right and be ready to swing and timing s0m running with util out. You can see how Mindfreak drops the bomb by trying to run from the opposite long angle. Saying s0m could have ran is like saying Mindfreak shouldn't have ran and should have turned to shoot s0m.

@platoonval

Yep that's something he could have done but I guess I didn't make this part clear enough. s0m doesn't know exactly how close CGRS is on his right. We only know in hindsight that CGRS was further, but he very well could have been much closer and like the example I showed, you can quickly swing someone trying to run. It was risky to get caught with util out so he opted for an advantageous fight instead. Only in hindsight is it easy to say he could have ran, but you can see exactly how Mindfreak dies with the bomb while s0m is chasing him... it's easy to chase down those angles.
@acip1665

It‘s just a natural human reaction. You see, s0m only had a little time to think about what he would do and to guess what would CGRS do. This video already explained it well, but I’ve noticed that people seems to forget that in that moment, s0m didn‘t know what will happen while we (people viewing/commenting this video) already know what will happen. Yes, you are 100% correct that s0m could’ve used his utilities to ran away from CGRS and won the round, you aren‘t wrong. But you have to remember that you‘re saying that after it happened, not right when it happens. The amount of pressure that s0m had was maybe a bit too much (1v1, round time, crucial round, LAN event, crowds, CGRS’s footsteps coming closer, etc.) so it affected his decision making, which I think was played perfectly by him (the shot through the wall to slow down/buy time or kill CGRS, the shorty’s crosshair placement), but it‘s just too bad that CGRS‘s play wasn‘t the same as s0m‘s predicted. To conclude, from my point of view, s0m didn‘t throw that round because it‘s just a natural human reaction to a threat, fight or flight.

When i was watching this event i thought s0m could' ve thrown his cove on the staircase at the end of main as protection to avoid dying. When the round would' ve been over because of time he could then even have swung around the cove to steal CGRS his gun if it would be favorable for the economy. Thoughts?
@phinks5368
Жыл бұрын
Good idea but as spectators we gotta realize we have perfect info and the players do not. From his perspective that's a potentially even more risky play. If cgrs is closer than he thinks he's gonna get shot in the back between the open space between the wall and the cove on the stairs. Putting it close to the wall and playing close with a shotgun covers his bases better. 1 he's not gonna give up a free kill running away and 2. He should get a kill with the element of surprise if cgrs is close. Unfortunately cgrs pushes through the cove close to the wall and catches Som off guard and som whiffs as well. Its just how the cookie crumbles sometimes 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️

I think you should compare to other situation because in some case Forsaken say that Mindfreak shouldn’t fight back in that game so the bomb could be more safely planted. There are no perfect information as there are no perfect game. It’s never easy to judge. I’m not even sure whether every information we receive is an exact replication of what happen because we never have replay mode. For me it’s a match that’ll be remembered as one of the best with how intense it was, not for how we perceived mistake.
