Werner Herzog discusses his new documentary film "Meeting Gorbachev," about Mikhail Sergeyevich Gorbachev, which Herzog co-directed with Andre Singer. Werner Herzog was only allowed two one-hour sessions to conduct the conversations (interviews) with Gorbachev.
Despite Mikhail Gorbachev's achievements for peace, e.g., the re-unification of Germany, arms reductions with Ronald Reagan, he is considered by some people in Russia as a traitor. Werner Herzog feels that makes him a "tragic figure" in world history.
