2023 late July I went to Western Samoa. We flew on Fijian airlines and Fiji was on that flight. We went through customs together and I was along side of Fiji the entire time. I wanted to just approach him and talk, shake hands etc....but I did not want to invade his privacy. He look tired and just wanting time to relax. I respected that! I am watching this interview and Fiji is just like me. We spent two weeks in Western Samoan and kept running into Fiji. On our last day my wife and kids took a picture with him. I respect his space but I wish I could have sat with him at the resort and just chilled. Thanks for this interview! I got to see the real Fiji! and man!!!!! Alofa Atu!

Fiji has been one of my biggest influences since I started in the late 90's. All through high school (c/o 2004), I would practice drumming, guitar and singing harmonies to his albums. I dreamed of playing in his band. I eventually worked with him on multiple projects for other people but to this day don't have a song with him. Thank you guys for bringing his story to light.

I think musically we've moved out or started to move out of the crabs in a barrel mindset. It started with the polytape, then more recently all the collaborations with the cutthroat 100day challenge. And even look at the moon gang they have artists from different states and even genres like rock/indie. And even with the US and NZ polys been getting together. Its dope to see it all start to unfold.
