Great video, That's always a tough green for me, now I know why! Thanks to you... I'm occasionally starting to appreciate the "benefits of reading the greens" 😀

Thanks for putting out these videos. A mapping spreadsheet would be nice. I think I used too many spin spots on my spreadsheet I using now. Not using half of them in my games

I use mainly 2 spins for my sheet, and then adjust the spin as needed based on experience with the different holes. More information, as you say is not always better when it never gets utilized.

Great explanation, Babz. Obviously, the key to all of these formulas is CLUB/BALL MAPPING. I have to get mine completed whenever I find the will. Lol Thanks again!

There may be people out there who already have numbers. What’s your combo?

@@Babzilla33 I use Calloway Rogue (100+) with TM TP5x (61) I've used this ball for 2 years now but would be willing to switch if someone had mapping for a ball that wasn't too expensive. I guess, if I start winning I could afford them. :) Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Interested in seeing how you setup the club mapping spreadsheet. Types of info included and ease of locating it in a timed game

Babz, good stuff! I typically find on this hole that if I use my normal calc, the ball will come up short so I usually have to add some distance to my number. (My calc gives me 223, so a couple of yards more than you got even to start with.) What divisor would you use for a massive downward elevation change like this? Are there different divisors if you were 220yrd vrs 120 yard with this same elevation change? Does the wind have a greater effect on the ball because it is in the air longer at a set spin rate? Do we need to use less than FBS to compensate in this case? Coincidentally, I did actually try a punch shot the last time I was on this hole and I came up 7-8yrds long so clearly a different effect of cutting through the wind. Thx

Good stuff Fred. Divisors are largely player based because 1 person calculates different than another and as you just mentioned we got 2 different numbers. I tend to use 3.25-3.75 but it fluctuates depending on the hole, wind, and where the trouble is. As for a different divisor from different yardages, different clubs produce different apexes. The main idea is to stick to a consistent divisor so that you don’t feel you’re constantly changing and warping your calculations. As for spin, yes the ball is affected more the longer it is in the air just like a kite. More spin = more apex = more airtime. Reducing spin lowers apex so as you mentioned can cut through the wind. BUT……… there’s still pros and cons. FBS will need more power and more aim, half spin the opposite. If you aim a half spin shot in a full backspin manner, your ball may not move as much and you could end up in trouble. Vice versa, you use a fbs shot and the ball moves too much and you have the same problem. So a lot is trial and error. Seeing what works in different situations and then replicating that result.
