I just got a whale fin yesterday and it’s about 15 inches with two pups. 😎 I’m looking to add a variegated whale fin 💛💛💛

The on-screen written summary at the end was very helpful. Thanks. What advice do you have for separating a new bud from an older “fin”?

I have a question. Have you ever had a cutting that rooted but didn't grow pups? I have a cutting that rooted over a year ago, but nothing else has grown. I keep it in indirect bright light, water when the soil is dry and fertilize once a month. The roots are thick and look healthy. I've never had a cutting do this before and at a loss. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

If I’m not mistaken with whale fins…it follows Hoya plant rules in which you need enough of a node to get the plant to shoot pups. Getting a leaf or cutting will only let that leaf stay alive. Again I could be wrong…only at this whale fin rabbit hole for a few hours now

@@GerardoLimonSorry to DIsagree, but I grow both. Hoyas cannot EVER grow a new plant from a leaf alone (w/out a node). Sans can & do do that, tho' depending on the Sans, it can take a LONG time. I've grown them both in soil & Hydro. I have a 10 yr. old Sans grown in Hydro alone, & other Sans which I've grown from leaves. (I've also given talks on growing Sans. for the Indoor Gardening Society of America, NYC Chapter, one given in 2005.)
