Whats confusing is they play poor moves but their commentary mentions loads of tactical concepts the average 600 elo player would not be aware of. The average 600 is just doing random shit based on intuition. They probably can only checkmate with rooks and queen’s and make moves because they look good. They just do the 2 moves of theory they know in the opening and then improvise.

11:37 Knight c3 to e4 stops this whole pin. B takes B on d2 stops you castling as king must retake, but unpins, so thats a fine outcome thats slightly in his favor. The best line i found is this: Kc3 to e4: Pawn takes pawn d5 is the best counter most players will see as they are going to take the knight and continue the pin, and this is undefendable if black isnt blind. The solution i found is bishop d5 to take back the pawn and sack the bishop. He should retake with queen, other moves i cant find may salvage it, knight f6 takes bishop d5 is probably the correct move as it has him at an advantage, yes, but at least his pin will be blocked and your queen slips out though you're down 2 material. However, if he takes bishop d5 with queen, as most players will, he has instantly lost. Knight e4 takes knight f6 with check must be retaken by pawn g7, if he moves the king either direction, queen e8 is M1. If he takes back with pawn, he is still lost to forced mate; your queen takes his rook with check, then he has to go king g7, and in a WEIRD twist since the white H pawn is on g4; it is rook h1 takes pawn h7, making king g6 forced, and queen g8 is actually Checkmate as his pawns block him in while keeping his own queen out.

It’s either mate, or you trade the knight for white’s queen

I love your passion for the game! Here’s my two cents: Don’t get lost trying to calculate 4-5 move sequences involving checks and captures. It’s basically guaranteed that you’re going to miss something at your level. Instead, just look for one or two move tactics that win material. That brings me to my next piece of advice that will literally cause you to gain 500 elo: don’t make one move blunders. That’s literally it. Forget tactics, crazy strategies or openings, if you don’t blunder any pieces you will win 100% of games at your level because your opponents will blunders pieces for you.

I’ve always found people like that told me “200 oh low elo😂😂” elo don’t mean s**t, it’s your skills that matters.

There's a reason why low elo means lower skills and high elo means higher skills. Or do you think someone with 600 elo could beat someone with 2000 elo?

Elo is meant to represent your skill. When your skill goes up, your elo will go up. In a way you're right, ELO doesn't matter, if you improve your skill. But most of the time a low elo player will lose to a higher elo player.

@@Perseagatuna It definitley isn't impossible for a 600 elo to beat someone with 2000 elo. It probably happened before.

I lowkey miss having a low elo. Chess honestly feels more fun when you're still learning in my opinion.

Very good first game! Decent game plans all around, bringing queen defending mates & knight to g-file, trying to disconnect rooks (btw you could've tried Nh2+) etc. Also you could've gone straight to end game by forcing queen trade at 8:22 left, but still impressive for a 600 elo. E: subbed

As an ex-600 ELO player, I can assure you that we are not thinking in steps-ahead format, but rather in moves ahead. We can only focus on one or two pieces at a single time, and then calculate 2-5 moves ahead with those pieces alone. We ignore anything that isn't a part of our plan including the fact that my opponent can move as well just like your physics teacher ignores friction. It's not that we can see 2 moves ahead, it's that we can see 5% of the board at any given moment and plan 3 moves ahead with only 5% of the board in mind.

0:49 the only bad thing about that move i can see is that after you play c5, white takes with the pawn on d4 and after you take back the queen can go to b7. the only way to counter this i to let yourself lose a pawn, by waiting for them to take the b pawn then taking with the a pawn, whist opening up your rooks file.

Honestly down 3 points of material in exchange for tripled pawns + doubled pawns + 3 pawn islands, a huge area of the board held by your pawns, and you're castled while he is not... totally playable. But when you're in a situation where your opponent's pawns are fubar, you probably don't want to follow that up by gobbling all of those fubar pawns, you want to attack their exposed king.

Chess online rating is not elo. Its a separate rating system. Pretty much anyone who knows how to move pieces and basic strategic thinking is at least around a 1000. It's just you start off with a very low rating and you have to play A F TON to increase your rating progressively, because those playing against you aren't idiots either (usually) so I guess cheer up, your rating is possibly much higher than you think

I think that too, I am 900 elo but I can easily win 1700 bots and some 1300 elo. But when I play online, I think people actually are studying too, just like me. At the analysis we both get like 1500 rating But. If you replay this game on pass to play, we get like 2300 elo, the game analysis is kinda biased
