can we all agree that Lauren's vlogs are the most relatable compared to other vloggers. Like cmon she shows the boring parts of her day too (which I lowkey love more than the fun parts). It's nice that she shows the behind the scenes of her entire day not just the fun highlights. Love you Lauren

I commented on your other video earlier! Haha I’m a vet tech and my doctor does orthopedic surgeries every week, if he does need a cruciate repair as long as you are good with recovery and are a helicopter mom then he will thrive! It’s actually great you work from home because you can watch him for the rest of the recovery. ❤️🐾

I have a pittie, and she unfortunately has had the surgery on both of her back legs. According to my vet it’s pretty common for her breed! Although the surgery was super expensive and it was a rough recovery.. I will tell you it’s so worth it to have it done. They’re like a new pup once they heal!! Sending Moose all the love, hopefully it doesn’t get to that point for him! 💖

Our pup tore his ACL 5 years ago, and ended up having to have a TPLO surgery...which is intense. Holy cow. Our orthopaedic vet said they really don't have any way of predicting if/when it will happen, and there are no correlations between specific breeds being more predisposed. It's really about the angle of their knees. They also say that the other knee usually needs to get done within 18 months of the first knee...luckily, we're 5 years out and he still gets the all clear on his annuals...hopefully Moose doesn't need a TPLO, but if he does - you've got this! Katy's (lustrelux) pup Turbo just had both done I think, so her videos might be worth a look if Moose needs the surgery :)

Hey Lauren! I’m so sorry Moose isn’t doing well 😢 If he isn’t doing too much better by his follow up appointment, ask the vet about laser therapy to see if it can help with the injury (that is unless it is a full tear of the CCL). There are a ton of benefits of LT, too!

My sweet doggo had surgery on Saturday to remove a cancerous mass from his leg/chest and let me tell you that hearing them cry in pain is the absolute worst feeling in the world. But let me tell you yesterday I could hear my heart shatter 😭

Hey Lauren! My dog partially tore her CCL and a few months later fully tore it running in our backyard when we was 3. Our vet told us if we didn’t fix it then she would go lame and still be in pain, we have a very similar relationship to you and moose. We got it repaired and there was no issues! She is now 13 and is just now experiencing some issues with that leg. Laying on her leg too long, arthritis in the joint, etc. overall I would recommend the surgery, it gives them the quality of life back and no pain.

I REALLY enjoyed this vlog! Regarding Moose, if the vets determine that his LCL, or CCL, or whatever, actually is torn and they reccomend surgery. I highly, HIGHLY suggest going through with it sooner rather than later. We knew my dog would have knee issues ever since she was young, but we thought that vet was exaggerating and just wanted to get money out of us, so we switched vets and ignored his advice. About 8 years later, not only did she completely tear through the ligament, but she also completely popped the head of her femur out of the hip socket because the hip had been compensating for so long. I have never heard a scream like the one she let out that night. It was devastated and terrifying and it shook us to our core. We dont know how many years she was in pain before that, but we feel absolutely awful that we didn't just do the surgery earlier and prevent the disaster that came with waiting. Also, 6 weeks after her first surgery, she ended up tearing the same ligament or tendon or whatever in the OTHER hind leg, so again, if they suggest surgery, do it as soon as you can. Dont settle for therapy.

I have a dog in the bully breed and he had a similar injury where my vet let me know he tore a tendon in his leg, it starts off as tiny rips and becomes a tear. As my vet explained that as they put more weight in one leg than the other it’s common for them to need surgery on the other leg as well. I remember how heartbreaking it was to see my baby in pain, but moose will get better. The surgery recovery process was hard to see, but it’s rewarding seeing them no longer in pain after the recovery period. Give moose all the cuddles and support and he will have a speedy recovery 💗

My Corgi/Lab mix had really bad joint problems in her legs and a week before her surgery she was hit by a car and then needed rods screws put in her leg. Her recovery was way better once we took her out of a crate and just let her stay in her bed in my room. The casts and braces were super hard for her to get used to, but when she could be with me she was fine. Bathroom breaks were tough and a lot of the time she would pee before she could get up or alert me. She was already 5 when that happened, she ended up living until almost 18 years after her hardware surgery and another joint surgery unrelated to her accident. Moose is a trooper and you’re a super attentive dog mom so everything should be fine. The sooner you help, the better.

I feel your pain with your pup! My moms dog had his first ACL surgery back in September, and just scheduled his other leg for next Friday! We've learned that dogs knees are just designed terribly, unfortunately its not very uncommon for pups to need ACL surgery. My mom was super anxious about it, but the healing process honestly wasn't bad- especially if you work from home and can be around your pup most of the day! You just have to keep reminding yourself that the surgery will lead them to a much happier and healthier life free of pain!

Hey lauren! My dog has had a torn CCL twice. Some dogs are just prone to it more than others, enough to where its inevitable that it will tear. Usually they just degrade over time and not one event causes it. The surgery recovery is definitely hard and their movement is severely limited but its a super successful surgery and it completely removes the possibility of it ever happening again. I hope moose doesnt have a torn CCL but it if he does it’s definitely something he can get through and still be a happy playful puppo

My dog tore her CCL jumping out of a truck (She was 13). They didn't want to do surgery because of her age and we opted for the bedrest option. Basically kept her on the floor (no stairs, couch) for 8 weeks and she recovered well! Was on pain meds for life and we carried her upstairs and downstairs for the past couple of years.

My dog's build is very similar to Moose and she tore her CCLs a few years ago. If that ends up being it definitely do your research on animal surgeons bc it's so important to have a good one especially for this particular surgery to get it done right. The recovery time sucks but the fact that he loves his crate will make it 100x easier. Unfortunately it is more likely that he will tear his other CCL after the original is healed from surgery, but we found the 2nd one much easier knowing what to expect. Hopefully his pain with go away, my dog didn't have much pain at all since she tore hers pretty cleanly. Sending healing thoughts!!

I hope Moose feels better. You might try doggie stairs for him for the couches and beds - anything he climbs up on to lay on. We have them for all our couches and one for our bed and they are game changers. It really helps them especially when they are prone to a leg or back injury. Jumping up and down from couches is not good for them. Zoomies usually lead to a lot of injuries in our house too!

My adopted American bulldog has a bad CCL. They say it was previous trauma before we got her. She is 5 years old and is good most of the time. When she over exerts herself she gets sore and limps for a couple of days. But unfortunately now she has arthritis in the area as well. Hopefully Moose’s CCL heals and there isn’t a tear. But dogs are super resilient and he will be okay . Just stay positive and give him love and he will get better in no time.

My doggo has had 3 CCL surgeries, (2 left knee, 1 right). The first left knee surgery was a lateral suture, not made for bigger dogs (my dog is a staffordshire terrier and 60lbs) so it failed within 6 months. So we had that knee repaired with a TPLO surgery, the CCL is a bilateral injury so usually if one fails the other one will fail too. About a year later we had to do the right knee. The rehab is the worst part, lots of ice and heat, mobility exercises and treatos! But it’s not the worst and seeing my girl be able to do zoomies without being in pain was SOOOOO worth it. Also if you have to do the surgery look into water therapy. That supposedly helps a ton, we didn’t do it for our dog because she’s terrified of water but it’s great for their joints! We also give our dog gylcoflex now which will help with arthritis down the line which will inevitable happen due to the surgeries. We also had our vet prescribe her doggy Xanax for the first couple days to help keep her calm and not trying to use the leg and that helped a ton. She’s almost 7 now, it’s been a couple years since the surgeries and it was well worth it! Hope you don’t have to do it but it’s not totally terrible if you do it and follow the directions and do the exercises and it will help him so much!

Ugh, I’m so sorry about Moose!🥺❤️ I hope that he gets better soon and doesn’t need the surgery🙈 My little Yorkie, Bella, had a problem with her CCL and had to have the op on her left hind at the end of 2020. It went super well and she healed amazingly for a 10 year old baba☺️ the recovery period was long and hard for her in the beginning , but it was during lockdown so at least there was always someone home to keep an eye on her. Doing the surgery was the best choice in the end, because it helped her so much! Unfortunately, recently her other leg has started having problems & she struggles going up stairs & stuff like that🥲 but we’ve been taking her to hydrotherapy which seems to be helping a lot with getting her CCLs stronger! The vet warned us that when you do the op on one leg, the other leg that they start to lean on more whilst recovering can become a problem too, so if Moose does end up having to do the op, I would look out for that!! But other wise, it’s worth doing it in the long run in my opinion😌

Hi Lauren, my pitbull had to have surgery due to a CCL tear from zoomin too hard. she was only 4 at the time so we were pretty scared. but I’m happy to report that my girl is almost 10!! and goes on 4 walks a day and is living her best puppo life. she still gets the zoomies and has not had any further issues. she sits a little differently now and is a little more stiff on cold days, but she is also almost 10 so she’s aging as gracefully as possible. sending moosie healing love ✨
