Some suggest transient isolated vertigo is not infrequently a TIA which can herald a posterior circulation stroke.
Others (myself included) feel that the evidence shows it to be quite infrequent, and that the vast majority of transient isolated vertigo is actually BPPV, vestibular migraine, orthostatic hypotension and others.
