Sir, can you explain the melt where usually appeared when rotary kiln is at low feedrate? I've asked my supervisor but I am confused his explanation because it seems to be the liquid phase of the raw materials.

Thank you for your question. The liquid phase in the rotary kiln begins to occur at a temperature of 1300 oC to 1450 oC. When the kiln feed is still low, the liquid phase can also occur, because the layer of material in the kiln is still thin. But it must be balanced with the rotational speed of the kiln, fuel consumption in the main burner and proper primary air settings, so that the liquid temperature of the material can be met.
