I use the same as ü, i live in Mallorca, spain and who know where is it, i highly recomend to visit the tramontana views, i love them. About the rules is that ü can't fly in a 8km ratio around any airport and your top alltitude is 254ft or so i think, anyway you must keep your drone in sight, if ü don't want a fine repect the law enforcement, have a nice day!!

I'm living in Austria and don't have a drone. But my university and the Lakeside Science & Technology Labs which are next to the company where I work are researching on autonomously flying multi-drone systems (nes.aau.at/?portfolio=multi-drone-systems), so I got into contact with them. But please note, that the most of the (bigger) drones shown in that video cannot be bought in shops or online, but are self-constructed and must be registered with the Austrian ATC (Austro Control), at least when used outside that area. Recently they're building an indoor drone flight lab where they can do flights with multiple drones without affecting the surrounding area and other people. The Austro Control has created an app for drone pilots for Austria, where people can configure the drone model they use and based on GPS information the apps shows if you're in a general no-fly zone, a partial no-fly zone (depending on the drone size for example) and which rules apply there. It also informs about the laws and rules in general.

You cover just about everything. Good for you! I have the Mavic Air 2. I just fly for recreation. I have my FAA Part 107, and Trust, which is a new, recent FAA Endorsement. We can now also fly at night here in the U.S. if we acquire Night Flight Training, and place a Light on our Drone. I haven't chosen to fly at night yet. Being a Private Pilot I appreciate a certain amount of training and knowledge for a Drone Pilot; however, FAA has gone too far with everything they require a Drone Pilot to learn. Why should a Drone Pilot know about Runway Number, Taxiways, and other incidentals around an Airport? Our FAA, in my opinion, is out of control and over-reaching for authority. Great subject. 👍😁

If the drone will be equipped with some GPS module, than some programming of "invisible walls" aka "no flight zones" which will automatically update according the actual region will help. Of course it will be very difficult to implement it legally and technically. Anyway I think we are going to era when there will be fully automated ground or air drones...

But we are in EU, and next year i will license myself as a drone pilot. About the light airplanes the things are quite different. We still fly with a small zodiac under the radars, without license. But but only in zones without airtraffic and people ;)

It never ceases to amaze me how quickly a couple of ID10T's can ruin a fun hobby for everyone!!! I have no problem with professionals registering their equipment so that they can fly around airports and public events, but I'll be darned if I'm going to register a toy... Good grief!!! I think a lot of this is just politicians trying to make a name for themselves instead of doing the really tough stuff like balancing budgets, getting good paying jobs into their area etc!!! I guess we can't be trusted with nice toys anymore... :-(

Yes hobby multi rotor pilots should fly responsibly, but so should other pilots. I have seen reports of 'drone' sightings at impossible distances. In the case of Gatwick no evidence was ever produced that there had been a drone despite the fact that these days most people carry a camera of some kind. In another case the 'drone' sighting in the end was thought to be a helicopter operating in the area.

What exactly is the difference between flying a remote controlled drone and flying a remote controlled aircraft/helicopter? Technically, planes, drones ( multicopters) and helicopters all are aircraft, and technically any remote controlled device is a drone. The point is, you ban both if what you suggested was done.

I fly a mavic pro. Laws in New Zealand are very similar to what you stated. Line of sight-daylight hours-120 meters max- 4km radius uncontrolled aerodrome or within controlled airspace. The biggest thing is as you say - acting responsible and using common sense, unfortunately there appears to be too many people out there who fail to do this, forcing policy makers to make rules and laws to cover this. Love my mavic pro and continually learning new things.

I'm in the U.S. and the drone rules are similar to those in the Netherlands. I'm also a manned aircraft pilot and understand the rules help protect everyone. Unfortunately there will always be those that will knowingly violate the rules and the reaction by legislators is pile on more rules only the law abiding will follow. I'm against outright bans but people need to understand drones are not toys and sharing airspace is a serious matter.

And FYI the word drone is incorrect as they are just RC models that are piloted just like a full-scale aircraft. Only difference is we have our feet on the ground. Basically just follow the rules and you won't have any trouble and this hobby can expand to the point where our future generation your kids will have very fun and amazing job opportunities. *Just play by the rules*

I want one but I doubt whether I could pick up a 25 kg drone let alone fly it, lol, so no worries on that score. DJI Mini3 is in my sights. Just wondering : if I climb one of my Scottish mountains to 3000ft, say, launch my future drone and fly it away over the glen/valley how do I stand legally as it's within seconds at a height of perhaps 1000ft or more above ground level? But if I fly straight up 390ft to an altitude of 3390ft (hypothetical for the Netherlands!) is that legal or unsafe? Maybe unsafe for a helicopter...Great video. Thank you.

For me Drones are very scary, as there's so many people buying them and not following rules, and the laws regarding them especially here in my country. Drones here are not permitted in restricted areas either like you explained, and height is at 400 feet. As a former aerial search and rescue pilot, I have had countless near misses with drones, while at 500 Feet ant up to 1000'. I know of 3 accidents, 2 at the local airport's circuit area. One of these had a person doing his first solo, the drone hit his prop and disabled the engine, during take off, bad area to bring a plane down due to the power stations switching yard and high voltage power lines in the area. He done a good job on his first ditched landing on solid ground, but it freaked out the young pilot. Another one was a loaded parachute flight, same area, drone hit the wing on take off, causing server damage to the wing. Problem here is it's not being Policed enough and not enough education given to the dangers these drones can cause, if rules are not followed. If a standard practice with flying Drones are in place like what we have in our aviation industry, globally, there will be lot less confusion. Drones are handy things in the right hands, but when in the wrong hands of ignorant people, they are death traps.

Only if they made them affordable, I've been flying RC for 40 years and have over 100 craft now and here in Canada we now have to pay $5 each every 5 years to fly plus renew license at $10 currently, but that won't last. So it will cost near $600 all said and done for something I've done without incident for 40years. And that chopper photo she used, the chopper was flying illegally at 150ft when min operating height in the area is 500ft. Manned aircraft are part of the problem. Para gliders are also restricted to 500ft min here and people are always flying down to brush cornfields and shit and no one goes after them. But I fly around my yard under 100ft and I'm a criminal for having fun......... Yeah right!

I am a professional/Commercial Drone Pilot. Airspace rules are put in place for everyone's safety and should be followed by everyone. Unfortunately, that's not always the case. I never fly Beyond line of sight, if you can't see the drone, you can see what it could fly into. I never fly higher than 390' AGL ( this is actually 10' lower than the legal max). If I see a manned aircraft coming near, I land until it has passed.

I'm not sure if law will be united across Europe. For example Austria (as far I know) basically prohibits recording video footage due to privacy reasons even in deserted mountain areas and their registration fees are currently set to something completely crazy as 300EUR/year just to fly it. It makes no sense to have a drone here ... except one that can fly inside your living room. As far I know video recording is illegal for drones and dash cams, i'm not sure how they deal with digital cameras and phones.

There has never been one single aircraft forced landing, or accident caused by a single drone yet there are millions of drones flying. We have 100s of people killed yearly while flying General Aviation by way less number of aircraft. Aviation regulators like the FAA claim they base their regulation on risk, and studies of past accidents are unable to provide any evidence of injuries, or death caused by a drone. They regulate every remote controlled aircraft including model aviation with a heavy hand when it wasn't needed. Claims made by pilots they see a drone near an airport are likely not drones but are mistaken as a drone. Drones have now replaced the UFO seen by airline pilots. The FAA's real intent is to hand the airspace over to commercial drone delivery companies so they can make millions is cost savings by getting rid of labor cost of paying someone to deliver products. Everything in America is always about money in the end.

I’m a SW engineer! This is easily enforced via required GPS and altimeter in the drone and loading a local or world wide do not fly area into the drone. Enforcement of the age of the do not fly area will ensure it remains up to date or the drone will fail to fly. If operator tries to fly into a do not fly zone the drone will automatically return to the drone controller and alert the operator that they violated the law. Having a distance to closest violation area showing on the controller would help. Does this idea have any merit?

You need to stop agreeing with the vilification of drones and drone pilots. Canada's laws are stupid, I've been flying manned and RC for 40years and I've seen more manned pilot screwups than RC. Like that chopper photo you showed, it was proven that the chopper was flying illegally in the airspace at 150ft where there is a 500ft manned aircraft min altitude and the fact that in the 70years of RC flight there has never been a crash into manned aviation that has cause death or injury. It's all just media hype, BTW no drones were ever proven at Gatwick and the one "photo evidence" were lights on a static building crane. Just hystaria and propoganda for groups who want to sell or buy the airspace like Google and Amazon. Unfortunately some RC pilots believe what is being spued but governments without any research.

I think the Netherlands have fair and reasonable rules regarding Drone operation. I don't fly 'dones' but I have and still do design and build large scale RC model air craft, now classed as UAV's. Many countries knee jerk reaction to drone proliferation is draconian and way over the top. I live in NZ and I expect our politicians will be over the top when it comes to announcing the rules around all UAV operation, which will impact unfairly on traditional RC air craft flyers like my self.

Exactly here in the US it's always about money that is what drives our regulators. Google, and amazon want to ground hobbyist or regulate them to death they know the hobby will die with massive regulation. They won't have to deal with model aircraft flying in their way of making millions of dollars in new profits reduction in employees who deliver items for them today. America lobbyist is just legal corruption they just call it donations. Model Aviation has flown under the radar for many years once we created the technology for FPV that was the beginning of the end for us.
