When games are made for fun instead of cash grabs.

ive put 30 hours into helldivers 2 and even if you dont have a group to play with, the quickplay option during your mission select seems to work great. most randoms are also great at going for objectives rather than wasting time on kills like what ends up happening in most other games.

Storylines, even if they still have a storyline. Palworld, has a horrible storyline, I mean, it's what you make of it, but it's still a better game than AAA and even what Unisoft calls a AAAA game! BNethesda used to have the best storyies, but it disspeared with Fallout 76. Yeah, they tried to add a story to it, but it was too little, too late. I really do miss the very first goal of a game is campaign/single player. Introduce multiplayer from that point onward. Pock Pair didn't go that route, but they had no I.P. to work from. But we had Stray, another indie release, I was hoping that game would make AAA studios say, "hmm" and change some things, but nope. But the problem isn't the studios and devs, it's the conglomerates that own them. It's things like investor meetings that dictate the road taken. Many of them, I think, don't even play video games.

Not even going to mention Lethal Company? That game... has no right to be as successful as it is. It's simplistic, with barely any content, deliberately made to look like something you'd play in 800x600 on windows 95 on the family computer, and yet it out-performed _everything_ within days of release. Can there be any purer indication that the majority of the games industry is a herd of zombies only still moving by sheer dumb momentum than that?

I don't have much context, but I've been looking at the pattern of games, the who what when where and why play a big part in success. It seems games live or die based on luck but that's untrue if you look at the nuance and can read the general feeling of people WHO BUY GAMES AND PLAY THEM. Since when have graphics been important for a game to be good and well received? Undertail and Delta rune and all games of their graphical ilk prove such things are only aesthetics and nothing more. And to be honest in the current market it seems Lethal Company hit a fun little niche of its own, I've seen enough of it on KZitem to know that its simplistic gameplay is well implemented enough to prop up and grow a good community around it so it's no wonder it took off. In this current state of AAA wetting the bed, it's no wonder indie games are filling in the voids and standard of an actually enjoyable game. I don't know how true this is but I'm pretty sure the only reason it can happen in this industry is because of the relatively low needs. For example, for a game to be commendable by the average person all it has to do is deliver on all of its promises while drawing the player into the game(which should be the primary objective of a good game) Also a big part of game making seems to be mechanisms and how well they are implemented and how attractive it is along with a bunch of other points of data I can't quite yet pull together since I've just barely started to dive deep on the gaming iceberg. I'd continue to make points and whatnot but I'm going to go to sleep before the sun rises. BTW I'm just really curious if people will ever get fed up with the way modern cod is run, I've seen people talk nothing but negativity about it around the few places that I visit that are related to it. I wonder if things are slowly pointing towards a gaming renaissance? If so maybe it will be around 2030 give or take a few years or a decade. Thanks if you made it through the one page essay.

Dude, bathesda was bought by microsoft. bethesda is dead. long live bethesda. 76 was shit, starfield was shit and the next title they release is going to be shit because you cant undo greed and corruption once it seeps into a company. theyve been taught they can get 70 bucks for an initial release no matter how much shit you cram in the box and thats what they will go forward assuming until they learn the hard way.

I am not going to lie. Older games were tough but Dark Souls kills you because the coding is broke not because the game is tough. Dark Souls has a shit ton of simps who literally don't know what quality gaming is if it bit them in their fucking asses. The game on launch of Dark Souls was broken and un beatable because for starters in the tutorial the game needed a patch to use the roll function because the coding did not register the roll function. So before the game was even playable you had to have a patch to make rolling work so that you could get past the tutorial telling you to roll. Then the first level required you killing 76 skeletons that would 1 shot you while walking on a spider web of ground to get the barrier to be removed. problem there was a mage that made the skeletons immortal. Now you might think oh just kill the mage. Problem is the mage was on the other side of the barrier. Turns out there was a way to hit the mage but to do so you had to glitch your way out of the main game and use walk threw wall glitches to be able to get to a ledge that was in an angle to hit the mage but your damage would only do 1 damage while he had 1000 hp and a healing factor of 50 hp healing a second so you would not be able to kill him at all. Now there is a way that you could kill the skeletons and that was to glitch the game by knocking the skeletons off the ledges and hoping their health bars would be removed and hoping they would become mortal and be allowed to die by glitching the skeletons off the map by hoping you could glitch them threw walls but that had a 99% chance of failure. Also the skeletons could move and attack you faster than you can move and they would swarm you and they would 1 shot you while it would take 3 hits to cause a knock back on them. Basically its not hard its straight impossible. It was then found out that the creators did that on purpose because they wanted to sell the broken non finished game and then sell the version that you could actually beat making double the profit. I got the game as a free game on X Box 360 special and the game pissed off so many fans that X Box nearly banned Dark Souls on their consoles because do to how much hate they got for giving a busted un finished game X Box 360 then game 20 free games over the the course of 4 months instead of the normal 8 free games over that same time to keep customers from sending hate mail for that pile of garbage. The company that made dark souls has done shitty service with all its games. In Armored Core does not matter which they all have the same problems and well when the game registers a problem that could damage your system because the coding was so fucked up and busted the game will just kill you and send you back to the beginning of the level just so that the game does not have a full on system breaking crash. That trick to save your system from the game causing your system physical damage happens 100% of the time. The games were not hard they were game system damaging busted because the people who make the games know they are garbage at programming but sold losers garbage anyway. The company is straight up scumbags and morons simp for them. That is reality. The first game that company released was actually banned because it destroyed consoles by screwing up the coding of consoles and would physically put viruses onto consoles. Elden Ring has the same coding errors as every game they have ever made because they are a garbage company and always have been. You complaining now about problems is you only realizing holly shit they don't know how to code games and they never did. You only have yourself to blame for garbage companies releasing garbage because you keep giving those garbage companies your money and simping for them even though they treat you like garbage.
