Best T tip so far. I think I haven’t been taking nearly enough time between sets now haha. Especially on legs. 👍🏼

Thanks for the Tuesday tips Hunter ..Rest for myself always have been longer when in growth phase and shorter as the contest prep start and the intensity is higher ( using the weight training as "cardio" as well in order to grow lean muscles .... It really come to if I'm good to go for my next set then I will get into the next set. Usually for large bodyparts such as legs and back I always need to get more time around 3 to 5 minutes...I want to make sure this way my larger bodyparts will have enough rest time in order to grow. There are times where I like to train intense and rest is about 1 to 2 minutes just depending on what I'm trying to achieve really. Great to hear about your tips as they make a lots of sense. Until next Tuesday tip... au revoir..

Great tip Hunter and interesting advice. I have always tried to train very fast as in a quick circuit style to attempt to burn more fat. But, I recognize that my strength has waned as I age and I want to get functionally stronger and move a little more weight around. I will incorporate this tip as I continue to evolve my training approach. Thanks for this series, very, very helpful!!

Nothing that interesting about it. It's common sense! 30/60sec is total BS. How U gonna push heavy weight if Ur still breathing hard?

Hey Hunter! Great progress this year and can’t wait to see what you bring to the stage at the Olympia! QUESTION: How many top sets do you typically do per workout? How many RIR do you typically do on your non working sets per workout? I sometimes feel I may be going to failure(top sets) to often and may be hurting recovery.. thanks in advance!

anybody else experience this?..hunter says rest until your heart rate slows down to be able to maximize your next set...we all probably get amped for leg and back day and we have probably used pre workout on those days to help ...I have found pre workout drastically hurt my recovery and performance between sets because I could NOT calm my breathing and heart rate down enough !!...Best, Steve

Awesome explanation! On the other end of the spectrum would you say taking more than 5 minutes would just be wasting time? Even if so, would someone waiting longer than 5 still theoretically get the same results since they’d be able to complete at least as many reps at x weight as they would had they waited only 5 minutes instead? I’m asking theoretically since my rest is more like 2-3 min typically. But I weigh 100 pounds less than you so I think that has an effect on the time it takes to check the boxes you mentioned.

Fuck everything i listen to my body and I wear a Apple Watch and watch my heart rate I always like to bring my heart rate around or under 100 best per minute before starting another set. That’s usually 2-5 minutes

So basically, one to two minutes unless your lifting extremely heavy compound movements like legs? Since we're all different, you say gage the time based on breathing stabilizing again? What's the difference between higher intensity still causing more stress on the muscle as less to gain than bit more rest in theory?

@@bufflegend Thank you brother. I agree, think it's good to completely replenish. Most of us go with a minute, but I think I'm going to lean towards that approach. Hunter seems to have the best handle on the art and science out there.

Sure this will get plenty of BRO RANTS!!!!! Been training for 35+ years figured that shit our real early. If your training Hard how U going to have a productive set if your still Huffing n Puffing? U won't it's not possible. If your whatever part is screaming from lactic acid. Do U seriously think your going to enter hell on the next set? NO! It's common sense listen to your body N U will progress! Don't N U will experience the over training some fools say isn't possible. Trust me it very possible! There's a reason successful body builder succeed. There is a place for all of it. But U better learn to prioritize your exercise. Your strongest when U enter the gym. Once U have warmed up That's when U push the hardest pick your exercises wisely. U progressively get weaker. That's when U work the blood n guts of the muscles! At the end is when U want to make them scream from lactic acid! This is when U want to try n put as much blood N nutrient in the muscle it feels like Ur going to tear the skin! Then go home and eat like a Lion! N sleep the the cubs! It's not a complicated process. Common Sense goes a long way in this game. 30/60 rest between sets has always been total BS! Piece to those that are serious, The rest get out of the way!
