beauty is in the eye of the beholder. meaning anything aesthetic is your fault. natural is full of imperfections, discolorations, aging, and normal wear and tear. if you want to look manufactured your need to be manufactured. it’s body modification masked by medicine.
@akwa2273
Жыл бұрын
Because it is elective surgery. Meaning the PATIENT CHOOSE to undergo the procedure with the doctor of their own choice. Can't sue someone else for your own decision. In other fields of medicine most procedures are recommended in accordance with the scientific evidence based on NECESSITY, when mistakes were made in the case that said necessity isn't actually present (Excessive/inappropriate treatment) or Omissions of necessary procedures (Not getting what you need) it creates ground and reasons for legal dispute. Some ethical plastic surgeon will say no to you. But patients seeking cosmetic surgeries aren't usually ready to take no for an answer and will just find someone else.
@nikki1400

There's a shit ton of regulations and ethics within the field of plastic surgery. There's also TONS of plastic surgeons and not everyone adheres to those laws and ethics. No matter what you're always going to have your outliers, and those bad ones won't stop until something very serious happens and they get "caught." Heck, I could open a plastic surgeons office tomorrow and start doing procedures on people. As long as the rent gets paid and it *looks* official there's nothing stopping me. It's absolutely not legal to do so, but until someone reports me to a regulatory board id get away with it.

You are spouting inaccurate information. This is all because of historically racist, Eurocentric societies and how they’ve dominated much of the norm and culture through white supremacy. Why do you think all the different races and ethnic countries try to look more white? This applies to Asians, black, Hispanic, and others. Colorism and appearing as white as possible is NOT a Korean thing and Koreans weren’t the first to do this. Plastic surgeries to appear less threatening/oriental were first done in Korea by a RACIST, white plastic surgeon in the US army. So actually, it is partly American society that perpetuated Eurocentric beauty standards, NOT KOREAN or Asian societies.

Yes!! Why is looking European the standard of beauty, when women from all backgrounds are beautiful in their own individual ways!! I come from a mixed Mediterranean/Middle eastern/Jewish background, and as soon as I hit my teens people (not just family, but also even random teachers and acquaintances: RUDE!!) started asking when I was getting my nose "fixed!!" I'd say that you can't fix what ain't broke in the first place! I remember telling people that Cleopatra, Queen Esther and Helen of Troy probably had noses like mine, and that they were eternally famous for their exotic beauty. But honestly? It really did eventually make me feel deeply insecure about my nose...and I still feel insecure even decades later. It's really hard to fight against an entire global culture which endlessly tells you that looking any other way than Western/Northern European means you're ugly and/or unfeminine, even when you *know* that people of all heritages are beautiful in their own unique ways!

But what does this have to do with ‘being proud’ of your heritage or race? @@Sassybella No, it's exacerbated by the extreme competition. Resources are scarce and the nee generation is struggling. Getting a job is almost impossible even for those that graduated from top universities. If you're pretty, it's just one more thing that can give you an edge over the competition. You're required to sumbit a photo with your application for jobs/internships/etc. in Korea, so it can really help to look pretty. It's extremely unfortunate, but it's hard to fix, because it's not like telling them "you look pretty as you are :)" will land them that job.

My personal opinion is that plastic surgery should be for people with extreme facial deformations and extreme tissue damage. In other words, with the same intention as after ww1. Natural beauty is the highest beauty of all. No amount of editing or fixing will get you a face closer to the golden ratio than the one you have now.

It’s honestly heartbreaking 💔 As a woman in my early 40s, I’m happy to say I’ve had zero cosmetic work done (no fillers or Botox either). Do I look the same as I did 10 years ago? Seeing someone so young having her face butchered like this is so sad.

We went to talk to a surgeon and they wanted to do a lift and all sorts of different things , including facial Botox. NOT what I went in for not ever thought of in my life. Went to another place and explained and they were so loving and found a good size for me to not be big. Just a little fuller. I was so happy after the procedure.
