Today we are learning about tritones and how they can be applied to rootless chords and tritone substitutions.
A tritone substitution is the substitution of one dominant 7th chord for another that is 3 whole steps (a tritone) away. The most common tritone substitution involves replacing the V7 chord with the bII7 chord.
