That's not a backhanded compliment. You are being disingenuous by calling yourself "fat", you are trying to trick your friends into saying "No, you are not fat." It is unfair for you to do that to people. People can be fat and beautiful or skinny and ugly or vice versa. If a person is skinny, fat, tall, short, pink, purple or whatever, I am not going to lie to them and say they are the opposite just to make them feel better. Jessi M. I graduated college at 21, being 22 and married with a child I wonder if you ever lived by yourself? Paid your own bills alone. Went to vacation by yourself. Experienced the world by yourself. I’m now 25 and I believe everyone needs to experience alone before being tied down by kids and a husband and having to tell them your every move and life for your family. Sometimes a girl just has to book a trip to Europe alone for the hell of it instead of worrying about a babysitter or letting your husband know but to each their own.

Lashanda Mills I hate that people always associate confidence or lack of, with bigger people. “I wish I could have that confidence” or “oh my goodness you have so much confidence” okay and? 🙄😒. Why can’t people just be confident haha.

Lashanda Mills that’s a nice compliment tho. I am a little heavy and I also dress neat and actually buy clothes that fit me. A lot of heavy woman wear clothes 4 sizes smaller and all their rolls are so popping out and the leggings they use are up their butt. And they think they look fabulous. I would love that compliment lol

Angie Babe I don’t like those stereotypical comments, as if heavy set women aren’t cute

Lashanda Mills well that’s because many heavy set woman dress really inappropriate and look like slobs. I have seen maybe 2 or 3 heavy set woman that actually look nice and put together.

I just started working in a small town and it turns out that people have been mistaking me with two other prominent black women in the community. I choose to take it as a compliment because although we look nothing alike, they’re doing great things.

ALL DRESSED UP AND NOWHERE TO GO. Needless to say that was the last day of that choking friendship.
