Reykjavik actually has a pretty good bus system, and there are WAY cheaper ways to get from the airport to the city than a taxi.

Two years ago I came to Iceland and rented a small camper van for 7 days for $560. That is $80/day for lodging and transportation. I stayed in safe parking lots, so no campground type fees. You can pay about $5 and get a shower at campgrounds even if you don’t stay there. There is a Costco in Reykjavik so I bought groceries, which kept my eating expenses down and allowed for a restaurant dinner each night. Everywhere takes credit card; no need to exchange money. A really great trip. Travel doesn’t have to be fancy or overly expensive to have a good time.

Exactly. When tourists think they know everything best, that is strange. I'm an Icelander and pay 30 USD pr. month for unlimited heating for the house and all hot water, unlimited. 50% of Icelandic cars are electric cars and that's almost free. I lost my health. Each month I have about 2800 USD. For information Iceland uses the same econimal system as Scandinavia. All Education free and Universities free for everybody, free healthcare and good social system. The most peaceful country in the world. Americans call this system communism. But the right thing is that this is a social democratic dystem.

Iceland is one of my top 10 favorite countries🇮🇸 My things to do list in Iceland 1. Visiting the capital city Reykjavik 2. Travel around the golden circle using the camper van 3. Blue lagoon 4. Glacier hike 5. And of course chasing aurora borealis I'd prefer to rent a convenient a car and buy your own grocery supplies and cook your own food because it's expensive dining out. I heard some rental companies may provide butane stove so do your research on that.

We visited Iceland last year and did a road trip around the whole country. My 3 favorite places were landmanalugar, the west man island, and the Westfords. Some other highlights, kayaking around the glacier bay near diamond beach. We loved horse back riding in the mountains. And hiking the volcano! The glaciers are beautiful, do a tour to hike it! It is an incredible country! So many great places!!

I visited Iceland in October 2021 during Covid, and loved the country. Yes, everything is very expensive there, including the restaurants, so I survived off those great hotdogs which cost about $4.25 at the time and cooked food from the supermarket at my hostel. Are the hotdogs really more than $7 now? There's a bus from the airport into town that costs much less than a taxi. What I liked about Reykjavik is that there were walking paths everywhere, so I could walk anywhere that I needed to go. An awesome walk is out to the Grotta lighthouse. Very close to the lighthouse, there's a pool of thermal water where you can dip your weary feet for relaxation while looking at the bay. There are several swimming pools around Reykjavik, and I recommend a daily visit to each one to dip in the hot water.

I think the most expensive hotel we booked was on the last two days in the city it was $204 per night. If you book 1-2 months in advanced you'll be fine! You can find some good deals

A hotel or Airbnb in Iceland won't cost you 400$ per night, that's just completely untrue. The only way it would cost you that much is if you book it 2 days in advance AND if you come in peak season (July to September).

Brett, been a huge fan of your video for years now, and you have also been my top YT traveller! However in recent times I have found your edits (by your new editor) have changed to quick fast paced cuts and this massively displeases me. Examples in this video at 1:17 you visit a bakery. The bakery tour is over so quickly giving us a total of 2 seconds with a total of 4 shots. We were out of there before I even knew what was happening! This also applies to many landscape shots as well in most of your recent videos. You're still awesome... nothing can take that away, but I hope you can pass on the feedback to your editor.
