Because the temple is so sacred, what are Latter-day Saints okay to say about the temple...OUTSIDE the temple? In this episode, David uses Church published resources to show that the answer is probably more than you think.

Notes:
- In the Washington DC Temple tour, Elder Stevenson and his wife show us a sealing room. He notes that, “At this altar, a man and a woman take each other by the hand and by the authority of the holy priesthood power, they are sealed as husband and wife.” Source: bit.ly/3CQL2Xl
- Brigham Young taught, “Your endowment is, to receive all those ordinances in the house of the Lord, which are necessary for you, after you have departed this life, to enable you to walk back to the presence of the Father, passing the angels who stand as sentinels, being enabled to give them the key words, the signs and tokens, pertaining to the holy Priesthood, and gain your eternal exaltation in spite of earth and hell.” Source: Discourses of Brigham Young, comp. John A. Widtsoe, Salt Lake City: Deseret Book Co., 1941, p. 416. Also: bit.ly/3cFt7ba
So let’s go through systematically and look at just some of what the Church has said about these ordinances.
First, baptisms for the dead. We’ll only gloss over this one, as this is probably the temple ordinance that members are most comfortable talking about. On two occasions in the last few years, multiple apostles and their wives have conducted video tours inside two different temples. We’ll refer to these tours repeatedly over the next few minutes. In both videos, they spend a good amount of time talking about baptisms for the dead. They even show you the locker room and the white jumpsuits worn in the baptismal font. The Church has put out loads of content about baptisms for the dead, so let’s continue on.
