@@abrahamfoam7376 The quality of Iranian products is actually very high and the food in Iran is much healthier than Canada or Us because in Iran food is usually organic and Irans soil is one of the best for vegetables and fruits. The thing is that Canadians earn 30 times more than Iranians in average, even tho Iran is a very rich country with smart and progressive people. Iranian average salary should be more than Canada. Mismanagement and corruption with an brutal regime have lead Iran for over 42 to what it has become today. May the situation change soon.

@@abrahamfoam7376 You're totally right that there is more regulations for companies to follow, safety standards, recalls, etc, which leads to higher prices, maybe it lead to better quality in a way but it is difficult to find good food. We are stuck with big corporations that control maybe 90% of our grocerie cart with junk food (Like Unilever, Pepsi and Kraft). To buy good local biological food it cost maybe double of traditional supermarkets food.

The grocery prices are dirt cheap in Tehran compared with the US food prices. I live in New York City and what you purchased for $5 would have cost me $50 US dollars here. Oh my God, I should come to Tehran and live there. My monthly Grocery bill is $500 a month in New York City and I am a single person.

To be fair the shampoo and soap were foreign products. Things like meat and cheese will always be locally produced. Advocating that Iran just produce everything itself and not trade with the world is a recipe for disaster. We are in a global economy and global marketplace, that's how countries develop and prosper. For $5USD ($6.50 AUD) in Australia we can get 1/3rd of a big Mac Meal. *OR* 4 cans of 330ml coke from any convince store. *OR* Some fries/chips (takeaway) *OR* Half a hamburger (takeaway) So clearly we pay much more for items here and I think we pay more than the US and UK as well 😭 (But our income average is quite good, we have a shrinking but good sized middle class still). To people viewing this in the United States you are acquiring _alot_ of merchandise for $5 US dollars, but they need to remember that what someone else in the comments said... Persians only earn about $100 US dollars in one month. Which means they work for about $1.6 US dollars an hour. That is if they work a 40 hour week. From the United States... Thanks for the video... thanks so much for sharing the living circumstances, in Europe all clothes are also very very very low quality. & the food does not seem expensive in Tehran. Money value is about 4 times in Amsterdam (so we get paid 4x more) but we also pay 4x more for things. SO IT’s THE-SAME. What you got for 5 i get for 20. But yes tourisme has an advantage or disadvantage! I did hear import (mostly elektronics) is hard to afford. I miss home 😢 You have no idea how blessed you are. You are home, have family, ripe fruit & veggies, mountains, sunshine, nature... I wish my parents were not brainwashed by their depression to leave Iran 🇮🇷 they got here & after 30 years they are still depressed, guess it was not the country to blame. I rather be depressed in Iran than depressed in this toy country, no matter what you try you are never at home elsewhere, regardless of kind or unfriendly individuals.

You also have to remember that the average person only earns $100 a month in iran so it might seem cheap for people spending dollars that are visiting from out or iran compared to people that live and work there

All those items In USA assuming that they are organic are as follows.( Iran meat is all grass fed) Grass fed beef steak chuck stew. 1 kg. Or 2.25 Lb..... $26. Chicken 1kg .............$15 Sun flower oil............$8 Kleenex......................$2 Yogurt organic... $6 Cheese.......................$5 Eggs one dzn.............$6 Hand Soap.................$4 Tooth paste...............$2 Total........................ $74

How to know online the dollar rate to riyal/toman, as government has different numbers and google show that rate .so that one can get good rate?

As for today November 19th, 1 dollar is 42.000 Irani rials. A Toman is 10 times 1 rial. So that means that 1 USD is 4.200 Tomans. 160.000 Irani Rial is 3.80 USD. So 160.000 Tomans is 38 Dollars! Am I making sense here?

In Sweden , we pay 40 to 45 Euro for it , so still Iran cheap , but I can tell you some thing the quality you have there it is some how better then here , special meat . Lamb meat cost here around 11 euro per Kg

Omg it's not too bad cost living in Iran for five dollars we can only a one order or KFC meal here in Bahrain but there in Iran we can buy more specialy groceries item🇮🇷😉🤔🤔😊

Its because of sanctions, my salary was around $3000 ($1=3000 tomans) just 5 years ago, now the same salary with plus five years raises is around $200 ($1= 23000 tomans) today
