I grew up in a very small town in NE Alabama (I'm 55 years old) and can remember when the first mixed family moved to our town ( black father, whiter mother and 3 children), they were 100% welcomed to the community with open arms. No one there or within 100+ miles cared about anything about anything other than are you good people. This goes for all small towns regardless if the town is one race, one creed, one color or a town of mixed Americans. Small towns work together and take care of everyone. Sad as it sounds it seems those days are over

We used to be able to leave our doors unlocked. Back in the 90s, just 3 decades ago, me and my sister could get off the school bus and just go in the house. We didn't have to have a key to get inside. The only reason we had to be careful just walking in the house was if you didn't watch where you were going you might step in dog crap because a puppy got out of his room. 😅

I remember the cruel things they said to the people who didn't go to church. Small town people have small, hate filled minds for anyone who doesn't look or think like them. I recommend getting out of your small town, see the actual world. It might open your mind a bit. Oh yeah, and I love the idea that there's no crime in a small town. Just because everyone turned their heads away from the drunk men who beat their wives and kids doesn't mean it doesn't happen. Or laugh when the mini mart gets robbed because it's just the police chief's younger brother. I'm in small town south Texas. Word went around a group was coming to tear down a statue in the town square. I didn't know who the statue was as many didn't know either. Supposedly it was someone in history with some vague relation to slavery. So the day comes about 15 people dressed in black and armed showed up to tear down the statue. They were met with the local police, the county sheriff, the Texas Highway Patrol and The Texas Militia who were armed as well. The Highway patrol conferenced peacefully with the intruders and convinced them to leave. We take care of business here in Texas. No blood was shed that day.

You lived in Silsbee, TX!! I just moved to middle of nowhere about 20 miles north of Silsbee on FM 92. Anyway, I consider this song to be more of a PSA to rioters. I hope they take heed!

This song is not racist. A lot of small towns don't put up with crime like larger towns do!!!!!!

Great review dude. You were churning out common sense facts all the way through and earned yourself another sub. Thanks for making my day.The big smile also goes a long way with folks like me. Never get cynnical even though the world seems to be goin' to hell in a hand basket every now and again. It's not worth it.

What is sad is they say this is racist but just heard a great rap song that addressed this issue about small town and never heard about it being racist. Funny who they go after. If you're interested the other song I am talking about: Burden - "We the People". Sad what our Police had and still go through. They should be ashamed and that is why they don't want it cont. to be shown. The gun statement was against Govt. coming for our guns. And just to let you know that farmer who got help from other farmers, he was recovering from a Heart attack. Got to love small towns! God Bless you and Much love from a Great Grandma in WA. State.

It's a song against violence and criminality, simply put and we should all be good with that message. Small towns have no color attached, just small town communities stick together and don't bring that rioting, stealing, looting to a small town because they will not just sit back and let it go down that way. That's the message here. Nothing more, nothing less.

Not a threat. A dare. Not divisive, an expression of rightful outrage. If that is controversial something is very wrong

This song is true. In our we have a lady that is our official Grandma. It doesn't matter who they are she is Grandma. If anyone even thought about hurting her in any way they wouldn't make it out of town. That stuff might fly in a city but don't try it here.

Singing When She Says Baby, headliner Jason Aldean was part of The Deadliest Shooting in Modern U.S. history.. In 11mims. 60 lives taken, 411 wounded. He visited each in the hospital, got therapy for his well being. Let him love a Small Town, blame him?

In a small town, everyone knows everyone. That's what he meant. So, no one attacks anyone. Or they pay a price.
