Love your laid-back and candid approach. 30k is not bad at all for what it offers you. You could triple that for just a truck, and double it for a camper. You'd have nice stuff, but you'd still be making the memories. Cheers from Nova Scotia

Whatever u can afford that meets your needs n gets u happy camping living, is all that matters! For me it was stumbling across an all fibre glass truck camper, didn’t expect it, but u just know it was meant to be. Things get harder to do the older u get lol. An all fibre glass camper was the best thing for me, n it cost me 15G over my budget 😱, but I had to list the pros n cons of having one vs not, n again yes it is what u sacrifice for what works the best for you in your time of life. BUT! I see all hard sided truck campers as if we r all in the same league, old or new. They all have their own little charm. 🍻

true. My 1979 Okanagan 8’-6” was my dad’s, and as I too get older, little roof maintenance is not as easy anymore, but… I love it, it’s immaculate, and it weighs only 1470 lbs dry ! Happy trails. 🍁🤙

Thanks for the breakdown on costs ... I'll be out there later this year in a truck camper, maybe new, maybe used... We'll see 👊🏻 Either way, what ever gets me out there 🌵

Hey Kevin , I like what your doing dude . I have the same Northern Lite just a few years older plus I live in Edmonton . I'd be very interested in talking to the guy who restores these out here . Can you share a link or forward a name or something . Ps I'm a full time RV'er , Currently I have my camper for weekends and my main stay is an older 24 foot motor home . Been RVing for decades now , off and on . Maybe we'll meet up on the trail sometime and do some fishing . lol

I talked with him like 3 years ago, I’m sorry I don’t have his info anymore, he also did it as a side whistle type thing so I don’t even know if he would do it, put it out on marketplace or one of the northern lite Facebook groups, there very helpful. Yes one day maybe! I’m pretty bad at fishing though 😂

I don't think that $30K for everything was too much, it is perfect and got you out there so enjoy it until the next chapter.

So im confused, what's the benefits between a northern lite basement model vs non-basement model???
@KevinWaldsAdventures
8 ай бұрын
I should do a comparison vid, the basement models have extra storage and the furnace heats the basement which heats your tanks so you can use everything in winter weather. Bonus your floor is warm in the cold too

Mr Wald... $30k... Wut??? You have more amenities in your build than 70% ov the vabs out there... You have shower/toilet and fresh water capacity... That was a very wise decision.... I myself own a 21' class b+ fully self contained....

What is a "basement" camper? You lost me on that one 😊
@KevinWaldsAdventures
8 ай бұрын
It’s basically a crawl space under the floor where all the tanks(grey, black and freshwater) are held and usually can have air from the furnace ducted into to make the camper 4 seasons, also the floor is always warm!

Also, Kevin briefly said the diff, of having a storage compartment accessible at the stairs (the entrance door) that is under the camper vs the much older NL models not having one. 🍻

Wow! So expensive! I recently bought a 2011 Ford F 350 6.7 diesel dually crew cab in excellent condition with 82,000 miles on it for $8,500. Presently looking on Marketplace locally (within a hundred miles or so for a slide in camper)…. I see all kinds of slide ins in the late 90’s to Late 2000’s for under 6 k. Most under 4 k actually. Is it a Canada thing in which prices are so outrageous? Although I do realize under this administration/ EVERYTHING is outrageous!!

that sounds about right for usd prices, the northern lites pull top dollar here, any other truck camper is a lot closer to what your saying, 8500 for that 6.7 is an amazing deal if I seen that here I would be gone super quick to buy it! glad you got an awesome deal!
