Welcome to my channel, in this video I demonstrate and review the Big Blue Dry Bee-Pro Feeder, Made in Canada and sold where great bee equipment is sold.
I filled it with Ultra Bee Dry Pollen Substitute which is formulated and sold by Mann Lake, or right on Amazon: amzn.to/39e6AdU
NO, I do not feed pollen subs or pollen patties going into Winter, there is not enough supporting science for that, however, I will offer it in early spring when they may be producing brood just as the rains hit.
If YOU really want to feed early pollen sub inside your hives, then I only recommend Ultra Bee Pollen Sub Patties: amzn.to/2WCba2V
The very BEST thing for your honey bees in spring is, of course, natural "real" pollen that will be coming from trees and a variety of early blooming plants. In the meantime, you can get your bees going and head off some early season losses by providing additional resources.
I don't recommend the large Moultrie Feeding Station for dry pollen as it tends to allow for rain to ruin your dry sub, and it limits the surface area for your honey bees to work out of the weather. amzn.to/3apECNT
IF you want to feed sugar - dry or in syrup form during early spring, this is the Rapid Round Feeder that I recommend: amzn.to/39hbM0y
I personally do not use dry pollen subs inside the hive. Many of the bees don't use it and it may invite other pests that you don't want inside your hive.
