Yet another cracking video from my favourite home brew channel. I love doing SMaSH beers largely due to you guy's influence 👍

Hi guys. Taiheke hops are New Zealand Cascade. They renamed it a few years ago to be more in line with the Maori naming scheme of the other NZ hops.

Thanks for that background info. I have found it quite interesting how the change in hemisphere influences the flavor of the hop oils. Cheers! -Mike

I bought about 7 oz's of Taiheke early this year drawn in by the description and planning to do a Taiheke hop bomb. Based on this vid and some others you've done I decided to make Strata and Enigma the stars with Taiheke and Australian Summer supporting in back.

Hey guys. Great episode as always. I bought and brewed with Neo1 hops recently. It's interesting. If you wanted to do an episode on it I will share some of what I bought with you. I'd be interested to see what styles you think it would compliment most.

I just made a hazy with taiheke, Amarillo and galaxy. In the 5 gallon batch I whirlpool with 4oz Galaxy, 2oz Taiheke 2oz Amarillo, followed with dry hop of 2oz each of Amarillo and taiheke. It was way too sweet, didn’t really get any specific fruit flavours just a candy like sweetness. Going to try one again with just citra and taiheke

Citra and Taiheke sounds good to me. I think Galaxy at times can take just about any other combo over the top. Thanks for the comment. Cheers! -Mike

GRAMS?!?!

Are you asking for more gram measurements or less? I always measure my hops in grams as its more accurate than trying to figure out fractional ounces sometimes. Cheers! -Mike

@@BrewDudes I like seeing both personally, but I can see where doing a 1 gallon batch grams would be better.

Using my scale, it seemed more accurate to use grams than 5/8th of an ounce. - John
