I would recommend cannabis grow tent videos, Debacco university has good information on managing climates inside the tent I'm sure there will be something useful or some piece of information that will spark an idea

The problems I had was the lack of information regarding the right led grow lights. Finding lights that be daisy chained and the right wattage. Added confusion with light wattage, Par, lumens and foot candles. plus finding a cheap way of cooling the tent down at night particularly during the summer.

my grow tent experience is quite different. I bought it mainly because I don't want water splashes/accidents to damage the flooring, etc. So I had pump, tank anything water related inside the tent. Also, for water tank I use a medium size tall bucket (about 10 gal maybe) instead of a tote as it takes up too much space. I even hooked up pipe to my water line and installed a valve in the tank so it can auto fill. This fully automates the setup For light, I use magnetic hooks to hang it, and find that way easier when you need to adjust. For airflow, I have to install a extra exhaust fan, and it runs all day, on low setting. When the heat gets too high, I'll increase the speed to accelerate heat exchange with outside air

LUXI just tested them and on the upper shelf it's 3729 LUX (PPFD 83, DLI 7.2) and on the lower shelf it's 3088 LUX (PPFD 70, DLI 6.0) but I tested with a phone app.

@@WindowsillNepenthes - right on. That’s good context. Brighter than I had expected. That should work well for your plants. I run mine at about 90-120ppfd and they do well

So your plants grow under stronger light than me and don't burn... Interesting! For me, it was the temperature building up too fast (before I removed 2 lights). 4x4 is tiny for sure.

@@WindowsillNepenthes - not much brighter. The upper “optimal range” for most nepenthes seems to be around 300-400ppfd. So you and I are not much different. No big deal

Like Remy said, an intake fan can be really effective to control this. The one downside to a fan is that it can hurt the humidity quick significantly while it's running, so I have a couple humidifiers hooked up to a humidistat that will auto turn on when the humidity drops to pretty effectively counteract this drop. A fan is also great for highlanders, where if you have it running intermittently at night and have the whole room drop below 15C, you can get these same temps in the tent.

I got one of my first Nepenthes and when I was potting it, I think I broke most of its roots off. It’s a baby plant and it’s roots super brittle. How can I help my plant heal after all this root damage?
@WindowsillNepenthes
Жыл бұрын
It's ok, under good care (light and humidity) your plant will naturally regrow roots, it's a little bit like a cutting that would root. ;)

It will depend on the size of the plants and the power of the light. Right now, I use it only to grow smaller plants, and it's fine, but as soon as they get too high, I need to move them away, like on the top shelf or between the shelves. 😉

I was considering a grow tent but ended up with a version of a glass cabinet. My only reason is that I really like to look at the plants and I cant be bothered to go in a tent to look at them. The downside with this method is that the cabinet needs to be large enough to hold the larger plants - but, it works great with the smaller ones.

Well, maybe if the plants in the lower shelf are loving shadows but I think there is a high risk of not having enough light for the plants to produce pitchers.
