"Whst does a crow like to do?" EAT!! I just fed a third round of snacks to Blackjack and it's 1:40 pm. He was cawing his head off on my patio and peering in my window to see where I was! Bottomless pit. 🙄

kristgeo - I had 2 starlings - before they learned to fly from the wildlife shelter. I just lost my little Sherlock - she was almost 15 but developed kidney issues. She was so sweet, talked alot as did the male Beankie . I called Sherlock "Natty" as she always wanted to be on or near me. I miss them greatly. Starlings are related to the Mynah birds - many people don't know this. Starlings can mimic your voice - better than an African Grey. Beware of what you say around them (ex. - bad words) as they will repeat what you say. Pigeons are also very smart - they too can recognize human faces and some were trained in the war for various tasks. Best of luck - Stephanie .

Hi their all. in the last few months I've been regularly feeding my local crows (at work) seeded bread, toast, chips & shelled peanuts and was wondering if you Can you give me some advise on feeding them special healthy treats? they often/always call out for me and follow me to the train station. it's very cute. I really like the idea of being trusted by wild birds and was wondering if you could offer any suggestions that could help with this process? kindest regards Ricardo

Peach and Cherry have a lot of respect for each other, always patiently waiting while the other is eating, they are like brothers. Pie likes to tease Maple, but has more respect for Peach and Cherry. Maple would like to mingle with both Peach and Cherry but Peach doesn't want to have anything to do with her. Cherry, on the other hand, is always just beaming when little Maple comes to visit! :-)

Great vid, I really appreciate how you cater so well to their needs, and always have believed animals should have the company of their own kind when they live with us. Four seems to make a healthy colony. I also like the fact that you gradually darken the room, and get ready for bed, so they know to perch...when the lights go out they cannot help but sleep. It is obvious you very well understand the nature of, and accommodate, the natural needs of your birds. Thank You both...

Hello I really enjoyed your video! I really enjoy birds, and have always appreciated the corvid families of the avian world. I really started learning about them in the last decade, though. My husband and I live in the country, in a pretty old house and we get our share of mice periodically. I tend not to throw out smelly items (meat packaging and the like) but I would tend to just put the dead mice that we would get from trapping (NO poison, thank you) in the same spot outside, figuring a possum or a barn cat could pick up a free snack. We soon had a surprise when I saw a crow come down and take it as soon as I went in the house! I've been watching the same family come and get mice for a few years now, I supplement them in the winter with dry cat food, and sometimes dried corn or popcorn or an apple for a treat. (Although last fall I saw one of them flying off with one of the last apples on a border tree, so I guess they like to help themselves) They are awesome! They are not overly friendly, but they know I won't hurt them, and they even know my car and follow me up my driveway to see if I have a treat for them. If it's my day off, they will fly by nonchalantly a few times to see if I notice them "patiently" waiting for me to come out and give them their treat. I really enjoy watching them. Endless entertainment! I meant to say that I don't throw out meat or smelly things without freezing it first, and then throwing it in the trash just before it gets picked up. In a word, bears.
