I never in my life thought I may become a Salesforce administrator. Two months ago I started learning Salesforce on my own and two weeks later my boss asked me to stop cold calling and to go full-time learning Salesforce because my company is buying the Sales Cloud and I am now the admin here and loving it. Still learning a lot though and I am preparing to take my certification next month. I am very grateful for finding your videos and cant wait to watch more!

Hi there. Thank you for the video. I am a bit confusing if I should to the 101 or 201 certificate first. I saw in another video of yours that the trailmix for the certification would be aprox 44h but I`m not sure for which certification it would be. I`ve subscribed for a webinar next week and though you`ve recommended that we should look for a job w/out the certification I dont see how it`s possible that the companies hire without experience/cert LOL. Anyways, I am in love of your videos. Hope you stay safe and sound! :)

New subscriber here, and I know this video is a year old but I'm curious as to what other careers being a salesforce admin relates to. Is it similar to accounting or perhaps data science? What in your opinion would crm management relate to the most? Thank you.

Our company recently switched to a Salesforce Environment, never having any experience, I was part of the team the tested the processes to make sure things were working smoothly. I learned about how to work in a SCRUM environment. Early on I would also help with setting up permissions/hierarchy for users, making sure they matched what each department needed. Since then I've been responsible for creating metric and QC reports. I have been doing the certification course through Trailhead, but I'm not confident that I will pass. I know you only need a 65% to pass, but I'm just not confident. My question to you is, how hard is this test? Can you provide an idea on what the test will cover and how they will cover it?

This video was very helpful. If you had to, how would you explain the role of an admin in a more detailed, simpler way? I can't quite get my head around the 'job description'. You would work for a company, and as an admin you would help departments of that same company with saleforce features, reports, etc?

Thanks for your video... I am starting out in the Salesforce field and have played around watching videos on KZitem and used LinkedIn Learning through the entirety of the COVID lockdown to play around Salesforce and learnt quite a lot. I have had some experience playing with and using Google forms to collect data and analyzing that data for management’s use. Taking off from these skill and experiences, I took the Salesforce Admin exam and passed it and have been over the moon... I’m looking at becoming a developer eventually (long term) but I’m super excited to want to start out in an admin role. I would appreciate if you have any leads and would be happy to be mentored by you if you’ve got time on your hands...

Very helpful video. How difficult would it be to land a part-time Admin job? I'd like to test the waters/try it out for about 6 months - 1 year with a PT position while keeping my current full-time job,. If I liked it, then quit my current FT job and transition to a FT Admin.

I don't get many part time requests from recruiters. If I wanted to find part time work I'd probably try using Upwork... but they usually want experts. I just searched Indeed for salesforce admin in chicago and found 1 part time job. It doesn't require any certifications, but it looks like they want a person with a bunch of hands on experience. The title of job is 'Junior Salesforce Administrator' but the experience they are describing is not 'junior' in my mind at all. It's for Heartland Alliance. It might be worth reaching out to them to build up a relationship... learn what they're trying to do... let them know what you're trying to do... and maybe you can work out a win win situation.

Hi EJ. I’ve also started the salesforce trailblazer app and am earning points and badges. I want the job you described but how do you actually do the job first without the training, even if a company will hire, don’t you have to know what to do? I’ve watched some of your other videos about applying with no experience, but it seems it would be difficult to execute without experience. How do I find local admin groups?

I suppose it depends on what your goals are. What sort of job do you want? Not all jobs need experience. Some times having the cert is good enough. You can look at job sites like dice.com, you could find a local salesforce partner in your area, or you could find a local business that needs an admin. Without experience, I'd avoid trying to get a remote position and would focus on in person ones. Move if you need to.

Hey, this was a great video. I'm interested in becoming a SalesForce admin. I'm about to finish university (unrelated field) and looked into TrailHead. I have no previous programming/tech experience but I am very willing to go through the process of earning many badges and go through other pieces of training, where possible. Would you say it's possible to find a job in the field without programming/only with trailhead? Thank you!
