Do you have a kitchen hack to share with me? Do you collect anything? When I was a child my aunt had a salt and pepper shaker collection. I loved to go and look at all the different shakers. She had them proudly displayed in her home.

I like to collect all kinds of tools. Some of those, My grandfather's in law gave to me. I still use those tools so useful. I wish I could have grandsons who can keep and use my tools in future. ^L^

Dear Tanya, in Germany we now also use the word “hack” for good tips or ideas or generally say “life hack” :) I already knew the water trick to check the freshness of eggs, but I still found your clear explanation very valuable. Thank you and best regards

i like collect money) it's joke). I recently learned that in Western countries they do not use parentheses ")" when communicating via text. For us this means a smile)

Ha! Ha! We use parentheses but not as much as we use to. Here is how we sometimes do smile. :)

I remember when I was a kid we checked the eggs with a “lamp box”. That was a box with a lamp bulb in it. There was a little hole on the box. We lighted the bulb and put the eggs on the hole one by one. If the egg looked transparent enough that meat the egg was good to eat. Thanks so much Tanya!😊

I've also heard of this. Could you do it in the day or only at night?
@qiupark1831

@@EnglishCoach3Ts We did it in the day because the ray of light only got out from the hole so the eggs could be lightened. Even in the grocery store then the clerks checked the eggs in this way.
