Protein intake should be more than carbs, but our Indian diets are wrong some times zero protein is consumed people eat rice or roti with some pickle or chilli and think the meal is over but it's not going to help the body. Because we consume so much carbs and have been doing it for millennia south asian male body type itself has deformed that's skinny fat , fat tummy and skinny limbs and less physical work in burning the calories after consuming so much carbohydrates

Absurd, my grandpa, 80+ eat 3-4 bhakri (= 10-12rotis approx) with desi vegetables(not your potatoes and onions) tendli, colocasia leaves, gongura, chival, rotated brinjals etc., eat 2 assal puranpoli (don't try to count calories, you will shit in pants) with desi ghee and milk on festivals, smoke desi bidis after dinner, never used private vehicles or public transport, use to walk or cycle as much as possible, goes to pilgrimage every monsoon in sahyadri hills and climb up to top to offer flowers to Shiva, never had any serious health issues, was working as blacksmith from the day he gave up schooling (5 th std), always smiling. Point is, you don't live as per demands of your habitat, you choose cold drink over water, noodles over upma, chips over roasted chana, you live in India and eat like Brits!

The advice in this video is perfectly fine and there's nothing absurd about it. We as a culture went through many colonialism incited famines and droughts, which has ultimately resulted, in the 21st century Indians preferring a rich carb based diet - which is more fulling and less nutritional. Over anything else. A major part of our diet literally looks like it's derived from post famine trauma. There's a reason why Indians, South Asians in fact store more fat in their abdomens than people of other races. Like if someone were to gain weight, first bit of their fat will primarily show up in their abdomen. This is all science look it up. There's even a term for such body types - _skinny fat_ literally the most common body type in india. About your grandpa, he belongs from a generation where it was more common than not to not have a need where you'll be wanting to sit behind a computer for 9 hours a day to earn a living. I bet an average labourer that works on a daily wage basis is more healthier, physique wise than an average 20 lpa earning IT guy🤷♀️ Your example about him is completely irrelevant in present context. Let people in india worry about their portion sizes and the nutritional value they derive from each meal, AT LAST. Ugh. Better late than never, but you culture kay thekedaar are way too annoying. Managing your portions and trying to eat more protein is following british culture now? So annoying

Huge issues with this video. For one, you have to be very careful when making videos like this. People develop disorderly eating because of misinterpretations. SECONDLY, why is Soya so taboo in the mainland? Eat the Dal, cut the oil from making it. It's good fiber and it is lower in calories if you look at it. In net carbs. Secondly, eat Soya chunks instead of eggs. Because it can become insanely unsustainable to produce those eggs. Again, consider net carbs in Soya. Fiber and protein should be filling. Of Indians ate more legumes, they would feel less hungry. Guaranteed.

Carbohydrates are of two kinds - the simple Carbohydrates or simple carbs found in fair and lovely white rice like kolam rice varieties, white maida products like Naan Kulcha biscuits bread pizza pasta etc. These go into our stomach and quickly get digested increasing our blood sugar quickly. Then come the heroes - Complex carbohydrates found in chapati, color wala rice like Matta rice or red rice, brown rice, found in millets, found in moong dal tur dal channa dal urad dal masoor dal, found in rajma channa moong matki chowli and its varied cousins, lentils like whole or akka masoor and it's brother sister yellow and black masoor. They go into our stomach they digest slowly keeping our stomach full for quite some time does not instantly increase blood sugar instantly. The protein and fiber in complex carbs help it to digest slower and make us healthy. Carbs are not evil, we just need to pick more complex carbs that will keep us fuller for longer and healthier. 😊
