As a resident Minnesotan, you don’t know anything about cold. 3 times this month it’s been -25F before wind chill. That’s 55F colder than your LA 30F, like the difference of 15F to 70F. When it’s -25F you can’t breathe through your nose cus ice builds up in it.

Si is right. I live in Fairbanks Alaska, it regularly hits -40 here. It hits different than down there where there's humidity. I don't cover my face. Yeah, I get ice on my beard, but it's not ungodly uncomfortable. When I drove a truck down in the 48, I couldn't stay outside in -20 for about 20 minutes. Up here, base layers and a good coat, beany, and gloves, it's fine.

Was the Ostrich in Lelia Lake, Texas by Memphis, Texas? If so, I’ve been there. My dad was born in Lelia Lake and when we were in Memphis for my grandmother’s funeral decades ago, a man took us to his ranch. It had allll kinds of animals, including Ostriches. The guy took us on a tour and also gave my dad a drained egg. It was HUGE!!

They weigh race cars the same way. Before and if you win the weight you as soon as you come off the track. Yes you have to weigh a certain amount for jockeys they weigh before and if they win they weigh them as soon as they get off the horse so they can’t get the weights back on their body if they did cheat with weights for weigh in.

I sympathize also with people cornered by animals. I was cornered on my porch by a runaway pit bull- just last March. It was terrible. Luckily I had a large WELCOME sign and I grabbed it and put it between myself and the dog, like a shield and just yelled it at to back off while my kids called animal control. And ostriches are just awful animals. Never would I have it on a farm. Rather have a bull.
