Love this video, but real talk: If you ever feel unsafe in a situation where you're alone, here're some tips to protect yourself tldr; Be weird. Be rude. Stay alive. - ALWAYS check your back seat before getting in the car. It never hurts to be safe -Don't be polite. If someone is says they need help back at their car, or if they need to come in to your house for some reason, and you have even the slightest suspicion they could be bad news, don't help them. Better to be a little rude then a dead body -if there's an item on top of your car that wasn't there before, *get away*. Find somewhere populated and ask to be escorted to your car. This is a common marker for trafficking and it could mean that someone is watching you -keys between the knuckles baybe!! tried and true tradition. Slash those suckers and run like hell -if you're being attacked by a guy, *always go for the balls*. Using your knee will have the most force, but grabbing them, twisting, and pulling those babies down will also be effective. -if balls are not reachable/present on your attacker, your next bet is the eyes. Slash them and run -slamming your head at their face is also pretty effective If I left anything out/got something wrong, please feel free to add on to this list :)

With the thing you said about being weird: if you see someone following you act extremely weird I’m talking walk and pretend to be a duck or something use your arms as wings start quaking or become a different animal because if you come off as extremely weird and obnoxious 1. Your drawing attention to yourself and other people will look at you and 2. The person following you may lose interest because you look insane
@AH-tu3km
3 жыл бұрын
If you think you're being followed and you want to check but you don't want to turn around and ask if the person is following you make three right turns. If the person is still behind you it means they're following you. Get to a populated area or call someone (preferably the police, they can stay on the line with you until you feel safe). Also if a cop tries to pull you over on an unpopulated stretch of highway there should be a local non emergency number to call and let them know you'll be pulling over in a more populated area. There have been too many serial killers that got a convincing cop costume and abducted people by pulling them over and getting them out of the car. Stay safe my friends ❤️

It also feels like, if you truly do believe what you say, you would think that being gay is a choice? Given that it's a sin and should be _chosen_ to be avoided. I'm grateful you would protect someone like me given your beliefs, but also your beliefs, if most people in the U.S. aligned with them, would hinder me from marrying someone I love and raising a family. I work retail at a small business, and that means often standing in a building alone. One time, i was helping a woman when a guy came in. Off the bat, he addressed me as 'baby' and told me i was beautiful. He took too long looking at things. I asked the woman maybe twice if she needed help, or if she was ready to ring out. Both times, 'no, no, take your time'. The man finally left. I thanked her for staying. She told me his vibe was off and women have to protect one another. There really is a deep and mostly unspoken thing between women, and she was an ally.

As a woman, I would kind of agree. I find the video very funny because it's a huge over exaggeration, of course. I don't believe every woman thinks this much about it, but if I'm ever alone with a guy I don't know then there's always that thought. I'm sure most people are uncomfortable being alone with a stranger, I think it's just more prominent with women because a) there are far more stories of women being attacked or assaulted by a man than vice versa, and b) because more often than not the woman is smaller and weaker than the man. there's always exceptions of course but men probably don't feel as uncomfortable because the other person they're alone with is smaller and biologically weaker so they don't perceive a threat

E4439qv5 Feminism is super important and I fight whenever I can for it. I just wish that it was called something else. Good hearted people are pushed away by their uneducated idea of what feminism is. They think it’s about bringing women above men, not bringing women from below to an equal level with men. Maybe just equalism, or something? That’s more inviting. I must say, however, some feminists could be a little more careful about what they say when they talk about “all men.” I’ve held my tongue many times when my female friends conveniently forget that I’m one of the “men” they’re insulting. It’s a little difficult to believe in something that your on the opposite end of, because, unavoidably, it always feels like your being attacked. I hope you believe when I say that I hate to say this, but feminists should cool down a little. However, that’s only to prove that they’re BETTER than these angry bigots. We’ve well passed the time for people to learn that compassion is what brings equality, not hatred. I hope, if you’ve read this whole thing, that you’re not mad at me. As a man, I can never understand what female’s go through. I do understand, however, what it’s like to be a “male feminist”, if I’m allowed to be called that. Food for thought. Hope you have a nice day.

@@calvinjohnson6242 (Plot Twist: I'm a guy. 😙) As luck would have it, I would also consider myself "a feminist, insofar as it doesn't conflict too hard with egalitarianism." A useful aphorism I've coined in light of the whole equality/equity conversation is the notion that "equality is a product of deferring superiority." Throughout history, men have enjoyed many rights and privileges that women were denied access to. Women voting, owning property, running their own businesses, and marrying & divorcing whoever they please used to be virtually unheard-of, borderline scandalous when it did happen. That's since changed here in the States, and that's something to celebrate. But of course, we're still not done... The causes today have long-since drifted from the talking points of the first few Suffragist conventions in Rochester. The movement(s?) since fragmented over any number of issues, and each facet continues to push for the changes they most want to see happen in workplaces, schools, homes, public spaces. Understanding my place in this, I make an effort to listen to and support any one aspect of the modern movement capable of convincing me it's a positive change. All men need to listen better. I can say that because it's true of everyone and anyone. Not all "all men" statements will apply to me; I know and understand that my responses are often non-conformist to many peoples' preconceived notions of masculinity (...including my own. 😝) All women who would use "all men" generalizations should always do so with care taken up-front, and likewise any man who takes offense at having been lumped in a harsh criticism of masculinity would _also_ be well-served to consider the problem _apart from themselves,_ as well as within themselves. Concurring with everybody here, it's no good that so many (maybe even most) women would experience anxiety in semi-private situations with unfamiliar men. The resulting question for me becomes "what can I do to help?" ...it's a sad fact for a man to be confronted with the possibility that "I can't fix this. I don't even know what little things I could be doing to help..." ...Which brings me back not only to my idea that men need to listen better, but that understanding that feeling of powerlessness in adverse situations is _exactly_ the kind of common ground we need to bring about positive change here. So, I'm here. I'm listening. And whatever the answer to this problem is, I'll work with you on it. Fight on. 🙋

Realizing that not all woman come off as intimidating to men. I’m tall myself and told I have a “wrong move and you’re done buddy” look. Getting into an elevator alone with a man is definitely awkward (and generally avoided) but the times I have they seemed more fidgety and anxious than me. And I just wanted to say, on behalf of the good men out there, please don’t always assume the worst, sometimes they are more scared of you than you are of them. I love the seatbelt analogy. Would you mind if I used that in the future to explain these thoughts to men who argue with "not all men are like that"? Exactly right. As someone who's been followed home more than twice. I feel no shame in being cautious. It's not misogyny to be wary of the odd guy at work waiting for you to head home at night. Or refuse to wish to be alone vulnerable with a stranger. It's wrong if you take further than the "seatbelt" without evidence of possible issues. I'm also paranoid about home safety since we had a random crazy lady walk into our home one night. Then were robbed twice at our new house a while back. Some women have that seatbelt engaged before they reach bad weather. But like a car....you should buckle up before you get rolling so to speak.
@stealthlock6634
3 жыл бұрын
Holy cow since when did this have 2k likes and requests to use the analogy? Ok so imo men and women have *generally* equal amounts of difficulties, stuff like men being called police on when seen alone with their own children. But the sad, sad truth is: the seatbelt discriminates all men out of necessity to protect from the few who are dangerous. :(
