@@johnblaze5252 The problem with quarterback is, it is at least equal parts talent, training/skill, and mental toughness. Without all three you won’t be successful and if as in most cases one or two are less advanced than the other. It is always easier to improve training/skill than it is the other two. So it is the one that should count the least in recruiting, but the rating services rate it the highest because it most directly effects statistics on the High School level. Also in talent people are to enamored with arm strength and almost ignore consistent accuracy, especially consistent accuracy under pressure.

Michigan is 10-1, and regardless of what happens next week against OSU, Dylan would have had HUGE exposure and attention, and his athletic abilities would have been recognized. The kid just wasn’t that great and I always believed part of Dylan’s high rating was just based on bloodlines.

I think his last name got him an extra star. Let's be real, he was 3 star at best. Didn't really have an arm and wasn't a dynamic runner. A tweener. Probably should have played WR. If he couldn't clearly beat out Joe Milton then he didn't belong in the B10 in the first place.

Got ranked high because of his family's success. It's the same reason why Arch Manning is rated so high.

@@rogertrew when you watch Arch Manning, does he look like the #1 QB in the country to you? Did McCaffrey look like a top 5 QB to you? As a matter of fact that 2017 pro style QB group was horrible. Griese himself wasn't that good. Do you remember who won the last national championship at Tennessee? It wasn't Peyton Manning. Winning a championship is a group effort.

OC turn over and I think Joe Milton was the wrong choice. If Dylan would've stayed he could've had at least a good couple of years but Cade is the Man now so best of luck to Dylan hope it works out for him. Maybe he gets drafted in the later rounds or becomes a free agent and he is the next Tom Brady or the next guy that is just a great back up QB that bounces from team to team and gets paid damn good money to hold a clipboard.

I don't know about that...I'm sure he could've performed just as well, if not better than Shea Patterson, if given the chance. The truth it, Harbaugh let him down, he should've transferred the year that Shea came aboard.

Michigan had it really good with Denard Robinson at QB but that was almost 10 year's and 2 coaches ago. Had Michigan hired Harbaugh sooner like they'd talked about in 08 and again in 2011 I'll bet Harbaugh could've made him a Heisman winner.

Hmmmm....Tom Brady was barely a 3 star recruit and only got a last minute scholarship to U Michigan. He then had to wait 3 seasons before he became a starter - and even in his last season, the coaches were considering starting a hotshot freshman superstar QB in his place. Brady played better and won the job for his last season - then got basically drafted at the end of the NFL draft (6th round) and was projected to be no better than a career backup QB. Dylan McCaffrey was a 4-5 star recruit. committed early to U Michigan and was viewed as the 'future of U Michigan Football'. BUT McCaffrey struggled a bit, and the decided to transfer out to a lower tier College Football team coached by his Dad. These all indicate that Dylan McCaffrey DOESN'T 'have it' - he's a frontrunner and struggles when faced with real competition. I think that this is probably as far as his Football career will go - he may be invited (undrafted) to an NFL Camp based on his father and brother's fame, but he won't have a productive NFL career. He'll be lucky to stay in the NFL as a backup - but I think he'll be cut very shortly UNLESS he's got some good ball handling skills to set and hold the ball for the place-kicker on the kicking/special teams (yes, guys have made NFL teams because they're good at that).
