He’s one of the most unappreciated artists. He changed the rap game and he basically made the game what it is today. We wouldn’t have the Drakes or Flo-Ridas of the world if it wasn’t for him. Rappers barely collabed with R&B singers let alone pop or country stars. One of the first artists to sing and rap on a song. He’s a revolutionary and innovator in this game.

Never heard of the rape accusations though 😳😩 I hope that's not true! He's amazing idk why he's not talked about in the same light as drake and lil wayne. I love him and Ashanti together 🥰 he's definitely the rapper with the most sex appeal as well in my opinion anyway

Nelly was one of the only rappers I listened to back in the day because he didnt seem fake. Ironically my two favorite rappers are Tech N9ne and Nelly and they are both out of Missouri. For me, I would have lived out my contract, got paid and gladly faded out. Invested, got a regular job and been cool. But, some people get greedy or meet the wrong people. I dont know what Nellys deal was or what was going on in his personal life, but, he will forever be one of the best to me!

I think Nelly break from 2006-2008 is ultimately what cost him. During that time Flo-Rida, whom had a similar sound, was able to steal Nelly's shine and fan base, similar to what Future did to T-Pain. By the time Nelly came back in he was looked at as the originator because most causal fans are fickle and don't have a huge respect for originators.
