If only that floor could speak. But, your little tour brings all that to life. Thank you for taking us with you, dear friend. God willing someday I hope to take this tour (and Lord willing I can have you as my guide because I honestly feel you’re kinda like a surrogate dad). Prayers for you and your family and friends and all Israel.

What a fascinating video! I am curious: given that the Byzantines were from the Greek part of the Roman Empire, and Constantine and St Helena were from Latin speaking Rome, were the churches St Helena was responsible for building of Greek or Latin tradition? I would love to hear more about the 1808 fire - how did it happen? How much was damaged? And since so much of the building seems to be flame proof stone, what exactly burned so fiercely?

I read an academic paper recently that said they think that even though the tomb monuments above ground were removed after the fire in 1808, the burials below ground are probably still there. For the Crusader tombs around the Chapel of Adam and the Stone of Unction that is. Maybe they will find something in the renovations. Also the wood panel on the ground outside the church seen at 5:05 covers a Crusader tomb beneath it too.

It's a shame really, that there is absolutely nothing in the church in remembrance of the kings buried there... Especially Baldwin IV who led Jerusalem so well despite being sick with a deadly disease deserves remembrance imo. Would be crazy if they would actually find remains of their tombs.
