From 1968-1974 they sold the most albums of all bands in that era. I am proud that Cory Wells was born in Buffalo, NY and raised as I was also. He past away living in Dunkirk, NY about an hour south of Buffalo, NY on Lake Erie. Cory was the main person to the band and the structure. A very down to earth humble family man. It’s a shame that such a band as Three Dog Night would end up falling apart, they were such a talented group with so much potential, the double live album they produced had so many great songs on it, my parents bought that album and I spent hours listening to it, much of the material was well written and the musicianship was top notch. Old Fashioned Love Song, Eli’s Coming, One, Brickyard Blues, Mama Told Me Not Come, Black and White, Joy To The World, and many other great songs were on their records. Had they been together when I was in High-School I most likely would have attended one of their concerts. It’s too bad that they didn’t tour with Blood Sweat and Tears, that would have been a great combination. I had always wondered what happened with them, they essentially fell off the face of the Earth, as far as we all knew. Many other good bands fell apart shortly after they had gotten airborne, it’s too bad that these guys didn’t stick it out a bit longer, they would have made good candidates for a Las Vegas residency. Thank you for posting this video, and answering the question! Please have an excellent and awesome day! ☀️✨

Aside from the vocalists, this band didn't have any "virtuoso" musicians...what it did have is absolutely perfect chemistry and matching skill level to make an amazing ensemble. Isn’t that enough? The Beatles weren’t virtuoso musicians. Very few pop artists are. The big drawback for me was that they didn’t write their own songs and weren’t part of a musical movement and so lacked an identity. Their versatility meant that they fell between different stools which means that they’ve been forgotten, more than their talent warranted.

He chugged orange juice for the entire show, which I've been told, indicates that he was trying to replenish his vitamin C levels, which are said to be depleted by LSD or "acid" use. I found out later that he had struggled with a heroin addiction for years, and had lost all of his worldly possessions, including all the gold records and other awards, and eventually ended up on Skid Row. I think it's because he's trying to speak too quickly.

I had to watch it with the subtitles on. Even the "auto translator" had trouble understanding him sometimes. He should just slow down a little, and try not to sound like he's reading copy, and he'll be fine.

I saw them on their reunion tour in 1984 with my now ex wife... those guys were amazing. it was the all original group at a place called the Cotillion in Wichita Kansas.. Its sounds like my marriage broke up at the same time as chuck left the band..

The fact that Rap/ Hip Hop is inducted into the “Rock n Roll” Hall of Fame is just insane. Rap and Hip Hop have enough history and artists to do a Hall of Fame dedicated to that form of music

Three Dog Night and WHITESNAKE? Those are two names I never thought I'd ever hear mentioned in the same breath! I didn't figure anyone who was in Three Dog Night would be cool enough to play in Whitesnake!

Hoyt Axton also wrote The Pusher for Steppenwolf, and co-wrote The No No Song for Ringo Starr, proving he was no goonie.

Great Documentary. I always thought Danny Hutton looked a lot like the Popular Author DEAN KOONTZ. He could easily pass for a relative. 👍👍 10⭐ 5🏆

Really sloppy writing and editing on this. One example has you stating that "Mama Told Me Not To Come" reached #11 while showing the chart with the song at #12. You also might have mentioned that Cory Wells's "almost comical" vocal style on that song was his emulation of Randy Newman's vocal (who wrote and originally recorded it.). You also skipped wildly from discussing the It Ain't Easy LP at length, to abruptly talking about "Joy To The World" which was on their fourth album Naturally. You also referred to "Axton" without explaining who he (Hoyt Axton, the songwriter) was. And of course you completely skipped over their second LP, Suitable For Framing. There's probably more mistakes in the part after the discussion of "Joy To The World" but I stopped watching.
