I always use the neoprene wrist strap on all my cast nets now. I threw an old net off a boat dock on the Ohio river once that just had the rope loop on the end. I don’t know what happened but something in the current grabbed the net and it damn near drug me off the dock before I could get the loop off my wrist. It must have been a log or something floating just under the surface. Scared the shit out of me. The neoprene will just pop right off if you need it to.

That's Livingston? I used to fish below the dam there from like '84 to '98 regularly. It was always wall to wall people on the bank, including guys with huge surf rods along the retaining fence on the shore and casting from platforms on boats that would line under the restriction cable that went across the river there. They'd pull in massive catfish and stripers all day long. The spillway and river in this video looks like a sad ghost version of what it used to be like. Used to catch spoonbills in that area quite regularly too.

I could be totally wrong .but i dont think the bait fish go thru the dam. I think what happens atleast in my experience is the water coming out of the turbines is heated there for its warmer and attracts the bait fish which then attracts bigger fish.

@@cynthiarangel9067 not sure what you mean.
