Vitamin K2 to direct the calcium properly to bones and not soft tissue.
@Unsensitive
5 жыл бұрын
Keep spreading the facts! K2 is the missing link for osteoporosis. In western diet we get plenty of calcium by diet. It's what out bodies do with it. Vit D is needed to absorb calcium. Most need more vit D(it also does tons more than this) K2 activates osteocalcin. Osteocalcin puts calcium in bones, otherwise it goes everywhere. Vit A is needed too for bone health.
@ursaltydog

@@Unsensitive And Vitamin C is vital for the body to absorb Vitamin D and also Iron.
@Unsensitive
5 жыл бұрын
@@ursaltydog sure, as long as it's from food. RCT's show taking vitamin c supplements increase all cause mortality. Non Randomized trials, such as observational, show a benefit if vit C, but is due to confounders such as the healthy user bias. Also vit c uptake is competitive with glucose, so if you're eating high carb, much of the western diets, you need to eat more vit c. You shouldn't be high carb though.. and if you aren't high carb, you'll have plenty of vit c.
@ursaltydog
5 жыл бұрын
@@Unsensitive Yes of course, as with all vitamins. In my family where we have specific genetic disorders, we have to intake natural forms of both Vitamin C, B12, and Potassium as our levels can become dangerously low. We have ehlers-danlos syndrome (our bodies do not make collagen at all) Chiari Malformation, and fibrous dysplasia. All which contribute to musculo-skeletal issues, including cardiac conditions.
@Unsensitive
5 жыл бұрын
@Idylchatter Too much calcium can be harmful, I'd stay away from calcium supplements. Magnesium is beneficial though, as most people are deficient. Instead focus on getting adequate vit D. 5000 IU or more, you'll absorb enough calcium from your diet without supplements. Absent adequate K2, calcoum supplements are even worse, potentially increasing risks of cardiovascular disease & neurological disease like Parkinson's. Vit D is also vital for: Cancer prevention Immune system function Immune system development Infection prevention Type 1 & type 2 diabetes Autoimmune disease risk reduction(MS, Chron's, psoriasis) Heart disease Hypertension Hypothyroidism Obesity Metabolic syndrome And many more.

Sometimes Osteoporosis is overdiagnosed and treated for when the patient doesn't acutally display any reasons for the bones to be changing. With Age comes natural change of the bones. Just remember that. Sometimes the models for osteoporosis aren't accurate. There also really isn't much of an effective medical treatment for osteoporosis other than lifestyle change.

Another bone issue you could cover is Fibrous Dysplasia. This is where the bone grows much too quickly and is weak because of it. I have it in my ear canal which causes the canal to narrow over time and I have to have the occasional operation to widen it again. However some people have it in their arms and legs and that can be pretty debilitating unfortunately.

Actually milk contains other things that will make even more damage to your body, including bones. If you drink milk, do it for another reason. For calcium, try other sources, like fish, etc. It's sad they don't say this, but please be careful consuming dairy. Google the negative effects of consuming dairy on humans. It's real and already out there, but not very known yet.

The anti-inflammatory NSAIDS (Non--Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs) are the most effective generally. Ibuprofen (Advil), Aleve, Ketoprofen (Orudis) and Celebrex are options. buffering the pH in our body. That is why these things matter. Human biochemistry will teach you all. Got to maintain the pH in our blood, digestive tract, and so on. The metabolism of proteins leads to amino acids and further down nucleic acids. They all are made up of the elements on the periodic table. They all have a certain pH as a compound or a single element. If these complex molecules are broken down by the body they can either lower the pH of the system(acid) or raise the pH(base). The body can use buffering agents such as Calcium bicarbonate. There are plently or scientific websites that explain buffering systems within the human body. I did a paper on this topic recently. I hope you can find some credible information from a free university research database.

Hopp there a couple of types of calcium as far as your body is concerned. I call them good and bad calcium. Good calcium is mostly an inert substance. Bad calcium can lead to more calcium forming organisms in your body and can manifest itself as things like arthritis in your joints. David Wolfe has some very good information out there on this. Just search David Wolfe calcium: ezinearticles.com/?David-Wolfe-Debunks-Calcium&id=1934330

@@bj97301 Right calcium can be used as a buffer, a building block to create a new substance in the body, or a waste product. Understanding human biochemistry is key to understand how certain proccesses such as bone formation and degredation happen. @Hopp I suggest you look on a library science database for more information on the process. Look for credible sources of information such as peer reviewed literature from scholarly websites. Also look for funding bias. It can make a huge difference as to whether the science is credible or not.(at least concerning nutrition science articles)
