Hey Jim I used to work at a diesel garage and that happened daily but the best one I seen is we all went for morning break at 10am and the oldest most experienced tech left the oil nozzle in the fill hole running. Well let’s say it filled entire engine up with oil and then over spilled of course. So don’t feel bad about a little used oil on the cement it’ll clean up.

I always had the same feeling about leftover tools etc with the first start up after a full pre harvest service /repairs on customers combines. They were almost always done on the customers farm in the 60s and 70s. Fortunately it never happened to me but not everyone was so lucky one of my workmates forgot to put oil in the engine and didn,t check it before starting the combine! Cost the company a replacement Perkins 6 354 😮

It’s incredible that you can use a 45 foot header on a 980, here in southern Sweden our maximum is 35 foot header sometimes when the straw is heavy we have to use a 30 foot. To use a 45 foot here we have to use an X9 1100. 😂

Ooh yeah, falling tools. I got to work on submarines when I was in the Navy, there were certain pieces of equipment that were deemed "too expensive" for sailors to work on, so they had high price DoD contractors come in to work on these giant reduction gears... a couple of hundred miles out they make their first turn and down at the same time, wrench slides of of whatever they left in on, and bam! no more go gets to the prop. Had to call for a tow. :(

As a finance guy, I’m curious what the expected increase in yield is with the new brushes. When you think of commercial production plants for large brands, they’re often fighting for pennies in savings per unit during production which can translate to significant dollars overall. It doesn’t seem like there would be much loss from cob shattering, so are we working towards a 5% increase? More/less?
