Similar opinion. I really like car stories. Not "How I made 14973.67 dollars in a month" stories. I mean, are only so many stories out there, but so many famous car people or racers that could see about interviewing. I guess the interview garage does make it more difficult because doubt many would come to Atlanta for just a story time.

Part of me wonders if a big part of the reason why car prices skyrocketed in the middle of Covid was because of a feedback loop of dealerships outbidding each other for used car inventory that they think consumers will pay top dollar for, rather than consumers rushing to dealership lots to buy cars. Because according to data from the feds, in late 2020 to early 2021 is when car sales peaked during the pandemic, but the number of cars sold per month during this period was essentially the same as number of cars sold per month at any point between 2015 and the start of the pandemic. While I'm sure that a lack of new cars may have raised the price of used cars slightly, in my mind it makes more sense that one dealership buys a truck worth $30k for $33k, and then a second, third and fourth dealership sees this, assumes the first dealership is going to make huge profit even after buying the truck for $3k more than it's worth, and buys the same model truck for $35-38k, and so on and so forth. When the first dealership struggles to sell the $30k truck and decides to sell it at auction, they see that it's now worth $40k, and the cycle continues, but no consumer has actually bought the truck yet.

When government prints up trillions of new dollars and pushes them into the economy then prices, especially asset prices will go up. The exact mechanics of how some of those dollars get into the car market vs how others get into housing and still others get into stocks don't really matter that much.

I've been tracking car prices pretty closely for the last year or so, especially EVs. I'm not in the business and I'm scared! The absolute plummeting of prices and how long dealerships have been sitting on some vehicles... And the worst is yet to come! The excess inventory you paid too much for combined with higher interest rates making your floorplan unaffordable and consumers who can't afford loans!

What's the point in selling so many cars? It's a personal challenge or for money, because to me this seems like more stress than it's worth in profit, not to mention that it would be possible to earn more money selling fewer cars, having a better selection and a higher profit per car, selling that many cars I doubt he is making much more than 1000 per car or even less.

I don't get your point. Every time you choose to expand, you also choose to accept more responsibilities. And you speak as if all of this can't instantly be solved by just hiring employees to look after it, with the immens amount of money you have coming in from these sales, that is a non-issue.
