2022 Thank you for sharing this ! I'm 53 and this made me feel like a kid again. The excitement brings a smile to my face. I really enjoy watching your videos. Even at my age I still love to play in the creeks and rivers and build dams . Hello from East Tennessee !

What wonderful quality time for dad and the boys! However, the dam was bound to fail as its top was below the highwater mark (upper line of seaweed). Fun, though!

Those kids got so much energy they need to invest in buckets and screens to shift through the dirt they could uncover some treasure🤷🤷🤷😎👍

It took the ocean eons and eons to carve through that rock. It makes me smile to think that this was just one more child in history who attempted this in that same spot, seeing if they would finally be the ones to control the power of Nature. 😊

Couldn't agree more, I've only watched a few of their vids since subscribing, and can't resist the urge to say, C'mon lads, there's plenty of time to whack that dam down with a spade an build it higher lol, but maybe I'm missing the point! (It wouldn't be the first time lol) really enjoying the vids regardless 👍👍

Amazing rock formations.... perfect setting for Dad and his 2 Sons to bond while facing an immensely powerful foe. In the end when the dam was breached, it wasn't a failure, it was a learning lesson. Next time they face the same foe, they will use a different approach. This is an important *_LIFE LESSON._*

Always liked doing these kind of things when I was a kid. In this case I would have compacted the sand and add more, search for some rocks or small boulders to put on the front section, maybe even some loose rocks that could act like wave breakers. Gotta stay interesting right? 🙂

Some future geography class is going to be studying this area now known as the "Atlantis's Dam"
@MichaelHolloway

Try pressing or compacting 1 foot layers - use a barrel (some sort of wide diametre tube) and just roll it gently before going on to add the next 1 foot of sand (known as a 'lift' in construction) - this imitates natural stratification that happens because of rain and is the process that makes up all natural landscapes - in this case it will harden your dams. Will a 'lift' dam made of sand hold better than a loose-pile dam? Love the channel. great story telling!
