I have been giving Chris credit for this thing for a year. He came in and fixed the culture. A good man advising a good owner. They both want to win. Thank you Chris for all you have done to turn this thing around.

I am a Detroit News subscriber. I went and read the Chris Speilman interview. Man, what a good person to have in the organization. After reading what he said, I feel even better about the direction this team is headed. The things the Lions are doing are changing what other teams are doing. People... believe in Shiela Hamp, she wants a winner and won't stop until she gets there (and beyond.) I don't know if they will win, I just know they are not doing the same things that didn't work for the last 60 years, change has come. This isn't the same old Lions.

Florio is out of his element when talking about pro personnel, as is his co-host. He should stick to the contracts and legal issues surrounding the NFL, at which he excels. Shella Ford said it herself that her and Rod sat down and they felt they needed to hire Chris and they did so and ""we hired Chris first thing and it was prob the best Hire this organization has ever made"" that the 3 of them sat down and came up with a plan and who to hire GM, HC etc....Chris had the most input out of the 3 all shella said was it was apparent that a culture change was needed but it was Chris who had all input to put that and then some in place and into action. I was surprised he wasn't the GM. I'm happy with Holmes and the job he's doing but don't be surprised if things go south and Holmes leaves or gets fired that Chris don't take over as GM . I believe this is another reason he's getting front office face time so he learns the way of the ropes and I think basically he's awaiting in the wings to be next GM but for now he's learning and observing . I mean let's face it ...Holmes is great but nothing lasts forever so one day he will move on and that's when Chris will take over

Committment and drive? Your very narrow judgement is being made at a time that, anyone going through what Jalen Carter is now going through, it can be seen as difficult and it's hard to know in these circumstances how his performances, let alone his state of mind is right now. Thinking of that I looked deeper and based upon commentary from the Georgia coaching staff his mentality is totally selfless with winning the first goal. I don't know if Detroit even has a chance to select him at 6 but if he's there I hope they take him. The Suh comparisons make me think he'll be the kind of guy that will push against the norm but will always be a force on the field.

Anthony Richardson would not be good for Detroit, why would we step Backwards, you can get worse at QB easier than get better and Richardson is a bad pick for any NFL team. As a QB he makes a better track Star.

Not only that, but the signing of gardener tells us there and win mode now no answer thoughts about it, so you don't take a quarterback at six or even 18 to sit behind and learn for a couple of years they're in a win-now mode so they need players that can contribute immediately

J-Rog is funny - took him 8 minutes to say “the Lions won’t draft Jalen Carter because he doesn’t fit their culture”. I think it’s obvious - whether you like the player or not, he won’t be a Lion. They could very well draft Richardson if he’s there. They have one QB on the roster right now, and Holmes is on record saying they need to do a better job with the back-up QB spot or spots this offseason. Maybe they are targeting somebody specific later in the draft (Hooker or O’Connell) but i think if AR-15 is there, they probably pick him. GO LIONS
@Whispering.Graves
Жыл бұрын
You're mistaken. The signing of gardener 100% proves that we are now in win-now mode, and if you're in a win-now way, you take players who can come in and contribute immediately, not someone who's going to sit behind someone for two years. We are a million percent isn't taking Richardson nor any quarterback in the first four or five pics
