I used to love going to Houston during the summers when I was a kid. It was my summer vacation from school. I’d stay there the whole summer with my older sister and brother-in-law. AstroWorld theme park, NASA, The Galleria, Houston Oilers and Houston Astros at the Astrodome, Battleship of Texas just outside of Houston in San Jacinto, Galveston Island just a few miles from Houston as well, were some of the places I used to go to. Was there back in 2012, but it was just for the day to take a physical for an offshore oil rig job, other than that, I hadn’t been there in ages, I know a lot has changed throughout the years. So many fond memories spending my summers there. Maybe I’ll move there someday and start a new life if God gives me more years of life here on earth. I’ve been fighting cancer for little over a year.

This area you see is about 15 miles from downtown. Houston annex a lot of these unincorporated area around the edge of the city. Developments continue moving further out or back inside the loop giving it a donut effect. The inner city and outer suburbs are nice but everything in between is bland and kind of run down
@Compilations07
2 жыл бұрын
This is literally the same for Kansas City, Missouri. When you go to the inner city it's very dense but you can go 10 miles from Downtown and it is kind of run down and you can even run into some "rural" parts. It's not like KC is a small city either, the city itself has over 500,000 and the metro has around 2.3 Million. So you end up with a dense inner city but as you go out you can get random pockets of low density or even ruralish parts but when you go out further you end up in dense suburbs such as Blue Springs, Lee's Summit, or even Liberty.

Yes, you could go to the flashy nice new parts of houston and just make your judgements that way but showing this just goes to show that our city still needs a lot of love and has more potential to be even greater. The worst planning in the world, the most inefficient road system ever built, it's as anti-human as a city can possibly be. It's built strictly for cars yet traffic is horrible everywhere. Find a place a bird could fly to in a minute & it takes half an hour by car. Now I am not a virgin out of karma. I have a feeling if I lived in some European cosmopolitan city I would have gotten plenty of female lovers by now. I am not around females enough for them to find me charming or creepy. All you can see is "bland", because that's all you're looking for. What you're showing here is only one small part of the whole of Houston. On any given day, I can easily show you hundreds of places that are a world away from what you've shown here.
