I always learn about more Vegan stuff here whenever you share things from your visit! :) Next time, I'd suggest visiting Level V Bakery. Also, for somewhere else in BC, Naked Cafe in Kelowna. I still LITERALLY dream about their breakfast sandwich, and it's been nearly 3.5 years since I had it.

I agree about naked cafe, one of the best little vegan cafes! I still think about it, I would go back to Kelowna just to eat there again.

I haven't been having nuts in a sandwich, however, there is a bakery near me that sells a baguette that has nuts in it and it's one of the most delicious things I've ever eaten. I thought it sounded weird, everyone I describe it to thinks it sounds weird, but it's AMAZING. 10/10 nuts with bread.

I totally get it! Toasty bread + toasty nuts = extra toasty loveliness!

I'm so with you on the diet vs health thing. I put a comment on a couple of your other videos while I was going through a similar thing which turned out to be rheumatoid arthritis. i treated it 95% within 10 weeks with diet (vegan, but not keto) and it stayed the same for a while after going back to my usual diet which includes junk food, I was just rebuilding my strength and flexibility from the damage done in the short time I had the worst symptoms. However the symptoms have come back now that my diet has been back to "normal" for a while, albeit much less severe than they were, and I really struggle restricting myself to the foods that healed me the first time, even 50% of the time, I get so frustrated with myself because it would be so simple to help myself but I just LOVE THE TASTY FOODS :/

Sounds great! I also am low carb (keto) for health reasons. I really miss Vancouver too! I remember vegan restaurants on Commercial Drive. Where is home now?

Loved this video! If you are ever on Vancouver Island, there are many lovely vegan places to check out like Lotus Pond and Yates Coffee Bar (which recently went fully plant based) in Victoria, Plantitude in Ladysmith, Eve Olive in Nanaimo, and Whole Glow Cafe in Cumberland. 🤩 I can't wait to visit Vancouver and try some of places you suggested! My favourite part of travelling is finding vegan restaurants and trying as many as possible.

Used to live in Vancouver and yes there are so many options for non-diary or vegan options. I totally understood 😅 I’m not a vegan but I can’t do dairy & too much carb & gluten makes me feel fatigue so I eat a lower carb and dairy free ( as much gluten free as possible ) can’t do average Asian diet on regular basis cause the rice is high carb & sugar content. I truly appreciate your channel & experiments at home ❤

If you unfortunately have to be around VGH again (not usually fun reasons) try lotus seed. Lots of tofu dishes, heavy on the veg. That area is where I lived for 20 years but can't afford it anymore so not sure what restaurants are around but there is a wholefoods nearby with some options and London drugs is kind of killing it for quality vegan snacks, drinks and candy.

Thanks for the rec! Lotus seed looks perfect. Love london drugs too. I swear I was there almost everyday for one reason or another haha

@@marystestkitchen Lotus Seed is one of the only restaurants I've seen that also identify things with garlic and onions. I feel like that's pretty remarkable for a small place. And the tofu benny was great, you can probably ask for it without the English muffin. The "hollondaise" is more dressing like to me but I liked it. That London Drugs just thrills me all the time. They must have a very cool purchaser because they would carry niche things like Stumptown cold brew, which is so dope. If you have time, I LOVE the no frills a couple blocks away. They tend to have vegan stuff before anyone else. Man I miss that area so much...

This looks like wonderful food, and like you enjoyed it despite the after effects. Vancouver is heralded as a beautiful city of glass and parks and is on my list of places to visit before shaking off my mortal coil, though I know it only from Davinci's Inquest, LOL. Hope your trip went well, and that your armsies have recovered! Thanks for posting : )

Yaay, glad you got a chance to try Doi! I was one of the people who suggested it, their oyster mushroom is so good. Planted are awesome too--I love cooking, but some weeks, it's just too much and I'm so glad they are an option. Sorry it was all carb heavy tho :(( It might be worth checking out Caveman Cafe next time, as they are very keto-focused, but with a lot of vegan options.

Oh yay thanks for the rec! That shroom Bao was divine and totally worth it. I loved Planted! Yes very carby but I was walking so much that the consequences weren't that bad. At least, I think it was all the activity that helped. I love the all vegan concept tho ❤️❤️❤️ Tbh, I was going to try caveman but didn't have time 🙃
