I just watched your video for the first time and you were very informative and concise and I appreciate that. I have been selling for about a year and I have learned so much from so many people on KZitem and reading and researching and I will put you on my list of people to watch often. Thank you. One tip that you didn't mention this time that is very important, in my opinion. I don't allow myself to source until I have listed the last things I sourced. It is like a reward to me and it keeps me from just being a hoarder because I would love nothing better.

I started implementing rule that I want to sell anything from the bins for $25 or more, and man, I’ve been leaving a lot more behind, along with rule of nothing that needs repair. Lol. I’m definitely getting more picky. It’s also forcing me to learn more brands since I’m not just picking up anything.

I currently moved from part-time to full-time what I am doing is to stop buying. I have a large debt pile and my focus is listing all my inventory since I stop buying and focused on listing I'm actually seeing my funds grow this years sales are over 1000% higher than prior years. Once I get everything under my control & listed then every quarter I'm going to adjust prices or offer discount and purge products and have a quarterly garage sale until I feel ready to start sourcing again. I currently have 2700 + items online with daily sales coming in. I also would say photos are a important part of eBay as well.

I used to buy video games on ebay and resold them on ebay and I made a killing, for a few years. That market was destroyed by digital content, sales plummeted so bad I had to shut it down. However, one game I bought in a lot ended up going from $250 value to $5000 and is increasing in price faster than gold. Don't resell the super rare stuff is what I learned. I'm glad I kept a few items.

This is such a great video. As a person that's only been reselling for just over half a year, these tips are priceless. Uggghh, I came across a resellers YT video a few weeks back aaaand even JUST the title made me feel self conscious. The video was like "How to tell a resellers a newbie" or something and, of course 🙄, I clicked on it and the first few minutes says when you see someone at a store and they are glued to their phone...... I immediately regretted watching even just the first few minutes. I'm not even a new reseller, but I ALWAYS research comps but now this douche made me feel like people were trying to determine how good of a reseller I was when I was shopping- but thats absolute BS. Soooo many seasoned resellers research comps for many many reasons soooo yeah, I 100% agree to be aware of who you're watching. Rant over. Sorrry! lmaoo

You said a word about the sourcing and inventory system. Here I am 200 items into my business and I had to go and create an inventory system because it was taking me too long to ship. Now I’m struggling trying to get caught up with what I have and new items I’m listing. I’ve also just donated a large pile of clothes that I purchased out of excitement 🤣 and then realized it wasn’t the move. I’m not repairing anything and no I don’t want to clean dirty shoes. I just made a list of nonnegotiables for myself. My hauls are smaller but the items are better and things I’m excited to list.

eBay is a lot of work to get started. Got 2 scam sales my first day (items were under 25 dollars) all with the “hello seller” then one who bought the item didn’t pay then full on delete their account thinking I would send the item. With all the cancellations I have to do trying to get my feedback up to get out of that 5 item a month thing will take forever

I've been selling for 3 years and have 50K followers and recently had been scammed for the FIRST time on Poshmark by a "new" account 🙃 somehow they were able to cancel the order 19 hrs later even after it shipped 😒 because of this I won't be shipping within the first 24hrs unless they're a regular customer. One of my non-negotiables that enables me to leave a lot of stuff behind is a minimum 500% profit margin on average comp-sold search results...which is very doable in a thrift shop/yard sale scenario but requires a fair amount of discernment and you leave behind many more things than you ever purchase.

I haven't started the video yet by I will right now. And I'm not new to this market place. But I love How in the intro you mention Debth over breadth. I love words and playing with them I'm mostly because I'm just attracted to vocabulary. But it's also fun to Educate other people Possibly by using words that they can extrapolate the meaning from just because of the context, which will cause them to go look up the definition for words. And sometimes I love formulating sentences or paragraphs or even coupling words together that will inspire a slightly different reaction. Which is to completely and utterly dumb found people Because to find the meaning of just one of the words that I used (Usually the 1st Uncommon word encountered), they must then look up like 4 words in that sentence. I usually don't get any response from my Descriptions and intros. But mainly When I'm (Wholesomely) challenged particularly in my by somebody requesting me to source the Response to other people's KZitem videos or just questions like on Quora about information that I am (either indirectlyirect or) infact claiming as fact. Which I for some crazy reason assume people will just know some of stuff that I perceive as common knowledge when in reality, the answer can vary depending on personal beliefs (or "what have you"). Because of the subjective nature of lanuage, or believing that I am in fact right when I'm humbly not lol. K I'm done. On with the show!

This is my third comment in this video😮. But I have to stop and write because everything you’re saying relates to me. Like I started watching someone who talks about high end brands of clothing that I know nothing about or people who have warehouse and employees and it’s not really making me do something. I cannot relate to what they’re doing and can’t see myself doing that in the future so it’s killing my confidence or dream to do reselling. So now I should focus on few people who can really help me or else I’ll just be overwhelmed.

Also, know your audience. Typically a farmer/fisherman/hunter type of guy isn't one who likes to spend any time shopping for clothes! They usually have their wife or mama doing that for them 😅 they'd rather be out in nature doing the aforementioned activities not wasting their time shopping! 😊😂

This is exactly what I want to be doing right now . I regret not starting with eBay because now I am petrified. I am doing well in Poshmark but I know it’s time to upgrade my income .

Hi Becky! I'm so glad I came upon this! I started Posh in 2017 & followed the same strategy as nearly EVERY single tip you gave! *High Five* 🥰☺ Nearly 5 years later - I am STILL selling out of my house & what family members give me as gifts etc. Profit margin is excellent ( and needed!) My primary focus is vintage, but I have several different departments. What pains me is that we will now have to pay income tax over $600 sold on household stuff we already purchased AND paid tax on 😠 I'vve already reached that number in the New Year :( I just subscribed, PFF! 💕 Looking forward to next weeks vid!

Thank you so much for watching and subbing! You have no idea how much I appreciate you :) I LOVE selling stuff people give me for free. Even though it may not fit my sourcing formula, I didn't go out and spend any time picking it up, and it's free education on brands and styles. win win!

I agree that you should start with the hardest platform… eBay. I’ve been reselling just kind of has a hobby for about four years as well. I just tried to start eBay this week and I’m so confused
