I'm an european and I have worked for an american company for 5 years. 1. People need to realise that profit is not the holy grail. People need to be treated fairly by the employer. People's happiness and wellbeing are above profits. 2. Healthcare is not a privilege, it's a basic human right. The government should protect their people, that's the whole purpose of having a government. 3. Socialist measures like free healthcare or unemployment checks are not communism. 4. Companies do not own you. YOU are giving them part of your time in exchange of a pay check. Companies need to stop treating employees as cattle. 5. People should be way more flexible with ideas like healthcare or gun control. The propaganda perpetuated by companies and politicians through the media is getting people to act AGAINST their best interest.

I couldn’t agree more!!! Trickle down economics over the past 40 years is in a large part to blame. We idolized “trust fund babies” and were treated like their slaves. I know from direct experience. When times were good they regretted that they only had but two hands to pay themselves on the back with and they made obscene profits and didn’t share with those who enabled them. When things turned bad, they told us we had to sacrifice.

@@that1guy487 -You seem like a perfect example of political tribalism if you think the problem with guns is a leftist issue. You seem to give the impression that liberals are what's stopping gun control to be effective forgetting the NRA and the influence they have on these matters. I've lived in Switzerland where guns are legal, but they study gun homicides like they study car accidents in a continuous effect to make them safer. Hence the reason its tougher to get hold of guns, but the majority of gun owners in Switzerland are responsible gun owners. You will never hear anyone under the age of 21 owning a gun. Once their license expires, they will to go through the same tests again to renew their gun license. Honestly, it's not that hard. The only way it can be achieved in the US is if the NRA got out if the way. A conflict of interest will always make the conversation difficult.

A serious problem in the US today is the curtailment of mobility. To move from one city to another can be a 5 figure proposition. Changes in the banking regulations has legitimize usury. Conversations were not interesting or one-sided and mostly about the "materials". Rarely, about abstract subjects which is quite different to me. I think the US would be a better place is more Americans travel internationally and see other countries rather than poisoning by media and hearsay. I genuinely felt happier as a person without all of the negativity being pushed everywhere you look. Talk to your neighbors. Go for a walk. Spend time with your friends and family. Go fishing for a day. Leave the radio off when you are driving somewhere and roll the windows down. Just shut everything off, spend some quality time with the people you love and you will be amazed at how much happier you will be. You feel a huge amount of stress lifted from your shoulders. Very insightful video. I've lived half my life outside the US, lived in 6 countries, and traveled to 43, but I still love the US for many things. However, like you, I am not blind to America's glaring problems. The key is whether Americans are willing to listen to constructive criticism, warnings, and advice from abroad, or as my experience sadly has shown me, fall back on "America, love or leave it" rhetoric, as the country collapses. Constructive criticism is a sign of love or concern. I don't offer that for countries I don't care about. Pro Tip: turn of the news and just live your life. The media lie to us, by default.

@Behizy How much money you spend on healthcare is irrelavant if it's being spent wrongly. Sometimes there are truly things that countries such as America are better at, but when it comes to healthcare there is a gold standard in the world of free (or mostly free) healthcare for all. This of course works better in some countries and worse in others, but overall works very well in the western world, and America is still using the old inefficient ways. I don't think this should be about political sides. This should be something all good people whether Republican or Democratic can agree on. It's a no brainer, and I don't get why so many Republicans seem to be against something which provides good healthcare for all, while never taking away people's rights to extra paid insurance. Instead of arguing against it, people should work together to make sure America studies the systems in other successful countries, and figures out the best method which will work best for USA.

I know so many people on anti-anxiety medications. I don't think being on the meds is the real issue, I think the problem is people feel like they have to be on those because of their anxiety. But we have to take into account personal experiences. I just had a conversation yesterday about how I grew up in a neighborhood in New England that was safe and people helped each other. And in a different part of the country, over 50 years later, I still have that in my life. My friend is in her 70s and grew up on the south side of Chicago. Her parents kept her very isolated from the neighborhood because people were dangerous. It wasn't being overprotective, it was a high crime area. Very true. I was born in Ecuador, moved to Colombia, then lived in Spain. I came to the USA about 25 years ago; while attending college, I was homeless and slept in my car for three years. When I graduated college after studying for eight years, I got a job in the tech industry, and in the eyes of society, I am “successful.” The other day, while purchasing a bagel for my son, I ran into an old couple who could not speak the language; I helped them order food in Spanish; when I was done, someone behind me said, “Go back to your country.” I am a US Citizen. This is my county.

Its cause older white Americans arent used to hearing Spanish speakers. They grew up when there wasnt ever other languages spoken around them. So it is off-putting to hear. Anyone would feel the same in their country. Do you really think Mexico would just accept a bunch of White people moving in and speaking english everywhere? No thats crazy. They would be racist and judgmental for a generation and then people would just forget about it and move on after that. Thats how it goes. So you should really understand that is why they act like that. And understand that you ARE an immigrant here and you are also a US Citizen, but you should be respectful of the native people and their experience even if they are rude sometimes. Really any country in the world is the same, I promise. US is the exception

@@ivywoodxrecords It was just rude, why not just accept that? And what you said is only partially right and mostly wrong. There are small minded people everywhere, it's not normal everywhere. I've never met such behaviour in Europe, while times change and we are less welcoming (mostly due to mass media fear carousel and close to borders ongoing wars) I still believe that nobody should be frowned upon based on the language he speaks here. Assuming that he would be willing to try to communicate. When the US was being born, it was pretty common in Poland to speak German, Hebrew or Russian on the streets here - for some Polish people it was their first language, it's just that 1st and 2nd WW as well as birth of modern politics changed that.

I don't know man. For background, I have lived in Europe (Spain, UK, Ireland, Holland, Estonia, Cyprus, Russia), Africa (several countries), Middle-East (UAE, Pakistan), Latin America (Argentina, Uruguay, Mexico), Asia (Japan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan), and of course USA. The most racism I faced was in UK (physical nature), Russia, and USA. You don't see racism because you are not racist. Therefore, when you interact with minorities, you do so with respect for the fellow human being and that is why you get the same back. You are in a position of white privilege because there is no racism thrown your way. I am black so if you allow me, I will give you just one example of personal experience. I own 20 rental properties so each time I go visit any of my properties, I either get approached by a 'Karen' asking me what I am doing there or find the police approach me saying someone called saying there was a strange man in the community. (That New York Central Park Karen is not a unique thing - it’s something that is a black reality). Fade up with that I had T-shirt and caps made with words "I am a landlord" which I wear each time I do my rounds. I also bought a body cam which I switch on when I arrive at the property and wear on my belt because things happen so quick that there is no time to reach for a phone and turn on video recording - you know people always say 'we don't know what happened before the camera started rolling'. That did not stop the encounters because people can only read when they have already approached you - most will not even read or believe what they are reading. After black killings in 2020, I decided to stop going to visit tenants and hired a white man to run these errands for me knowing that hiring a black person would result in the same encounters. This is just one example. I travel for my business and stay in hotels and my experience there is different from my white counterparts. For example, I am denied accommodation or denied corporate discount while whites I work with are afforded those benefits. I can go on and on and these are just my personal experiences. My wife, who is not black, fears for my life such that in Nov 2020, we left the US for Mexico and work and run my businesses remotely and I am happiest than I have ever been before. Mexican people are really very, very nice people - not what American media tells you. Just KZitem videos of Americans in Mexico and you will see what they say. I feel emotionally and psychologically at peace and physical safety here in Mexico. No police encounters, no American media - I switched it off, etc. That is sad I feel safe and happy in a foreign country, the one which my country looks down on. Oh, BTW, my one friend who is black, he is married to a white woman. He has similar experiences and now he run errands only if his wife is available to come along for ‘protection’. Therefore, on the topic of racism, please let the victims speak.

@xXxKometxXx I'm never much of a fan of the phrase "white privilege" since I think it too often is used as a general "stop whining, you're in no position to talk" shutdown, but I don't think MelodiousRhythm was using it in the same way here, and meant it more in the sense of "you aren't as aware of racist interactions because you've never dealt with them" (big assumption there that I don't necessarily agree with). When you have been the victim of racist encounters, it primes you for future ones. You're both more aware of when it's happening (or at least when you think it's happening) and also more on edge when you anticipate it happening to you, and that will make you perceive those instances far more often than someone who dealt with them less. I think that awareness gap is what he was referring to, although he could have articulated it better. I'm aware of the whole "black on black" crime thing, but there's a big difference between general crime and racist encounters. A disproportionate amount of poor urbanites in the US - a demographic that commits a disproportionate amount of crimes for a lot of really systemic and complex reasons - are black, and if I'm not wrong, that's what spikes the rates. However, most people don't encounter racism via stolen car tires or armed robbery, they encounter it when someone approaches them for "looking suspicious" on the street or when they're denied a service extended to others for flimsy reasons - things that escape documentation and can't easily be criminalized. Perhaps this is too barbed an accusation, but your overall argument doesn't seem that coherent. You leapt off the springboard by lobbing charges of racism (presumably inspired by reading "You don't see racism because you are not racist." by adding "I see racism, so I am racist") and then spewed a flurry of "it's subjective", "black people can be racist too", and "white privilege doesn't exist", before using those sometimes dubiously-relevant points to discredit his entire argument and label him the problem. Then you threw out the tried and true crime statistics before concluding with a paraphrase of "facts are facts." I don't want to belittle you - I do want to hear what nuggets of wisdom and knowledge you have if you can offer it - but you're dropping a sledgehammer on your own foot by arguing this way. Keep your arguments pointed and precise and don't start fights on fronts that no one is fighting on, it will save you a world of trouble in discussions like this.

Try to get your paperwork done , try to educate your kids , try to report a complaint against rape , murder and try to live with locals with local language. @@bendover-bz4bc I'm not quite sure I understand the spirit of your message, but I've been living in this particular country off and on since 2014. (Others before and since.) I can't very well start from scratch in a country that I already know well, speak some of the language of, etc. I sold what little stuff I had long ago. My kid grew up long ago. Right, some things are not as easy as in the U.S., but a whole lot is a whole lot easier. As you may know, switching countries - like going to India or Pakistan (if you're serious), or even back to the U.S. from here, would be super difficult right now, due to virus 'control' measures, and, thus, ill-advised.

There’s income inequality here, but I think it’s more of a case of there being vast upside rather than vast downside. I’ve travelled a fair bit, and my experience has been that there’s income inequality everywhere I’ve been, but the main difference I’ve seen is that there’s vast downside as well. In America, it seems people don’t really know what poverty looks like. The vast majority of us have everything we truly need. Places that work on eliminating the downsides also seem to limit the upsides a lot more. I guess I’m saying that we have vast opportunity on the upside and life really isn’t bad on the lower end.

You don’t really need to live anywhere overseas for very long. You can visit for a week or two to see how different it is in the rest of the world. Americans are navel-gazers; they think (because they’ve been told, and it’s now a measure of how “patriotic” they are) that the America is the absolute best in the world in everything, and that is just not true. We can learn a lot from other countries, and we look inward instead of outward. Americans do not travel out of their own country enough to know what’s going on.

The USA has a lot of problems. I’ve noticed this after living abroad for several years. I think one of the biggest problems is how tense and difficult everything is here. You really need to build your career, pay the mortgage, health insurance, car payments, student loans ect… It’s just an endless list of people trying to squeeze every last dollar out of you whereas in other countries there is more of a live day to day sort of attitude. You can just live in society without the need for so much materialism. For example Thailand. You can just go there, pay $300/ month or so for an apartment. No groceries. Just get some $2 street food for each meal. Take cheap minibuses that take you anywhere in the country, stop by the temple to zen out for a bit. Health insurance? Healthcare is affordable even without it. Buy a cheap scooter and ride around town, the weather is always hot 🥵
